Summary:

If you are a PvPer with a sense of humor that is not politically correct, Jesters of War may be the guild for you. We will be going competitive Guild vs Guild play, but don't tell you how to play. You can skim this post to get the gist of it.

Introduction:

Jesters of War is a PvP guild which has been around for thirteen years. We have just revamped our website and opened up recruitment for Guild Wars 2 and The Secret World. As a guild we tend to play one MMO at a time so we can focus all of our energy on one game. We are operating under the assumption that The Secret World will be out before Guild Wars 2, which is why we are recruiting for both games.

Jesters of War is first and foremost, a PvP guild. After launch, you can expect Jesters of War to run organized PvP groups.

Our humor could best be described as adult humor or college-level humor. If you want to join a family-friendly guild then Jesters of War is not for you. Members can expect to be exposed to jokes on a range of potentially inappropriate topics. We respect the people who do not want to be exposed to off-color jokes, and if that is the case then we encourage you to find a guild which is right for you.


FAQ:

As a PvP guild do you ignore PvE content?

We do not ignore the PvE aspect of any of the game we play, however our focus is on PvP. We can enjoy doing dungeon runs, quests, and crafting, but for most of our members, nothing is better than running in an organized Guild PvP group. Any competitive PvP environment will always be more of a focus than PvE content.

How does the application process work?

Once you go to our message board and apply your application will either be accepted or denied. If your application is accepted then you will immediately become a full member. There is no "trial period" or "probationary" status. We don't expect you to act like a second-class member, so we won't treat you like one. Once you are accepted you become a full member with full member privileges. We will only institute a restricted recruit status if we are playing a game where members have access to steal a large number of guild resources.

Do you require the use of a VoIP program?

We strongly suggest that all members are on our Ventrillo server while they are in game.

For those who are unfamiliar, Ventrillo is a free voice communication program which can be downloaded HERE. You do not need a microphone to listen, but you need one to speak to others.

Our Ventrillo server is where the majority of organizing groups and chat is done. If you are not on Ventrillo then you are missing out, but it's your choice. We will only require you to listen to Vent in organized PvP groups.

Do you have activity requirements?

We do not have a playtime requirement, but we do request that you at least make a post on our message board every once in a while so we know that you are still around.

How do you feel about roleplaying?

I think we had a roleplayer in the guild once... Either that or he was a paranoid schizophrenic... We don't care one way or another if you want to roleplay as long as you do it in private tells to yourself.


Member Code of Conduct:

As a member of Jesters of War we will mostly avoid telling you how to play, but you are expected to follow the Code of Conduct for the guild.

1. No smack talk. Lobbing insults at other players and guilds makes both you and Jesters of War look bad. Actions speak louder than words. We play PvP games, so let the PvP speak for you.

2. No douchebaggery. This one may sound a little vague, but it is fairly straightforward. You know when you are being a douchebag, so don’t do it.

3. No exploits or hacks. Anybody caught using a hack or exploiting game bugs will be immediately and permanently banned from the guild.

4. Stay active. Jesters of War does not have a play time requirement but you are expected to check the message boards often, and if you aren’t active in a game with the guild, make a post every once in a while so we know you are still around. While you are in-game get on our Ventrillo server. Members who aren’t on Vent may miss out on group organization and guild events.

5. Pull your own weight. Jesters of War is a tight-knit guild and we will help each other whenever a member needs help. However, players should not abuse the assistance of other members. Repeated requests for assistance doing solo quests, powerleveling, or repeatedly begging the guild for money or items could be considered a violation of this rule.

If you make the effort to do what you can on your own before asking for help, then you will always get assistance when you request it.
