There's something that I see more of recently and it really bugs me - People rage at their junglers for taking kills.

Take kill once, expect a "..." instead of "gj". Take it twice - "omg". Start snowballing - the whole team starts flaming you
I personally don't care; when I'm ganking bot I try to murder one dude as fast as possible so I have more time to kill the other one.

IMHO it's wrong to take the kill only if your ally is one auto/few ignite ticks away from a kill after going all in on the enemy while you simply supplied the CC. If you did lots of work, a towerdive or are simply afraid that the enemy might escape, get the kill (especially if you can snowball and carry).

    Am I thinking right?

I'd say you're thinking right, although my 'policy' on taking kills during ganks is different.

If I'm ganking mid or bot, and I know for sure that the carry can get the kill, I will let them have it. If I don't know for sure, I'll take it.

Also, I don't know about you, but if I'm playing jungle [IMG] Poppy and they whine at me for 'stealing' a kill because they apparently need it more, I'm not ganking for them again. Why help stupid people when they don't want to not be stupid?

I totally agree with you. Whenever I jungle I try and get a kill out of the gank. Of course I wouldn't go and steal a kill if it was obviously the ADC's or whatever kill but other than that I don't think people should be getting upset that you are getting kills.

In general junglers shouldn't take the kills because it barely helps the laner. Apart from the assist gold, you pretty much only deny the enemy laner some xp and gold. Now, not saying it's a bad situation but it doesn't really help the laner. Giving them a kill puts them about 400-500 gold ahead which is a lot!

Most junglers are known to be very item independent: [IMG] Jarvan IV, [IMG] Lee Sin and [IMG] Fiddlesticks might be able to snowball well; they also don't really need a ton of items to do their job.

I've grown paranoid of stealing kills now which is pretty absurd. Even when I'm mid, or top, an extremely crucial part to the team, I give kills to the jungler just in case they'll be like "ks, wth" or anything similar to that which I find very disturbing. I've had this experience many times when I was playing these two roles, AD as well. I also dislike it when I'm mid, and go down to gank bot lane. I get a double kill and they get some assist gold, and they're still like "why did you take my kill?". Sometimes, I will just let them try to take the kill, but most of the time, they run away with a sliver of health.

I regularly play jungle, and I would rather ensure a kill than leave an enemy hoping the adc will get there. Sure, if there is an ignite on them, or it is clear that my adc will get the kill then I will leave, but if there is a chance that the enemy will get away I'll keep on them. It isn't stealing a kill, it is ensuring it.

I appreciate the adc need kills to get items etc, but I don't want to run the risk of them escaping. Some people really get wound up about this and call me a kill stealer, but honestly I'm not :)

In my opinion, there's nothing wrong about securing a kill. As others have mentioned, it is better to give the kill to your carries but in some cases, it's not always easy to see if the carries can really get the kill. Sometimes, even the support gets a double kill during a gank or team fights.

What I find more annoying is when the jungler on my team refuses to give the buffs to those who need it most. Just last night, I was playing Ahri and our jungler was Tryndamere. He did not let me get the Blue buff even once, insisting that he needs the cooldown reduction.

I always give the blue buff to the mid-laner. But, if they do not come and get it when it I'm there to give it to them then I'll take it. Its not worth my time waiting to give it to them. If they want to great, but if they would rather go gank bot when I want to give it to them, i'll take it.

I agree. I'm not good at jungling yet, but I've never gotten pissed at a jungler getting a kill in my lane...isn't that the point of ganking? Ungrateful. haha

When I'm working on a guy and just got him down to the last little blip of health though and they give the last flick that kills him (or straight up ults him to ks like a dick), theeen I start to get a little miffed. >.>

It's because of the people thinking that the jungler is now the support. No, he's not. He's usually the tank - that's why people flame at him.

There is no excuse for raging at the jungler for taking kills, if you - steal them, of course. As in get the last hit without doing anything, then yes. They can rage at you. But if not, then no - tell them to shut up, and deal with it.

I never really cared. As long as someone takes the kills that is alright by me. In the end that just means that the advantage of gold and experience goes to a different member of your team.

It really depends on the style of your jungler. A lot of players fail to recognize the difference between the different styles, and as a result clump them all into the group that favors the laner more. Then again, I suppose that depends on the lane. I feel you're on the money for letting a carry secure the kill, what-with their title being carry... but with a top laner, especially one that's been falling behind? The kill surely would have been more beneficial than the assist gold/xp, but the chance for that player to finish pushing the lane out and getting a free blue pill without losing anything is just as invaluable in aiding him in lane.

    As
As a guy who mainly jungles I completely have to agree with you. I don't know much about the game (because I'm recently new) but from what I understand the role of the jungler is to support/gank whenever possible. I've noticed in many games if I come in for a gank someone else will start to complain when in reality they probably wouldn't have been able to get the kill if I wasn't helping.

I think one of the downsides to LoL is the fact you are always playing with new teammates who lots of the time are only playing for themselves. Most of us are use to playing games where it's all about me me me and you don't have to rely on the team formation. Personally I just think if you get the kill the team gets a kill and as a TEAM you're one step closer to a win:)

When a jungler takes my kill it doesn't bother me too much since it is positively affecting the team either way. The only time it makes me mad is when a utility jungler takes all the kills, because that is not their purpose in the game. A utility jungler taking kills is like a support taking kills. Also it bothers me when I ask a jungle to help me when I am doing bad, so I can catch up and he takes the kills. Because, I tell them that I need a kill and it is usually blatantly obvious that their intention was to take the kill.

Yeah, I can definitely agree with that. If they're coming over to help you, then they should probably actually help you. Of course, if you get an assist and they get a kill it does still help, but it doesn't necessarily help enough. Still, sometimes just pushing your enemy out of lane because of the kill can be enough to let you catch up in CS.

It's even worse when the jungler comes to 'help' you and then gives the enemy a kill to put them further ahead, though.

When I play jungler, it's annoying when I see someone getting mad because I apparently stole their kill. They weren't anywhere close, and the guy was taking down one of our turrets. What do they expect me to do? Being a jungler is boring if I build into something amazing and can't even carry a lane for a bit.

Your job as a jungle is to snowball your lanes. If you're playing solo Q and don't trust your team, then by all means KS everybody, but if you're playing as a team, you should rarely take people's kills, especially if they can get it themselves. If you're not sure they can secure the kill, do it yourself.

Also if you're playing a character that doesn't need a bunch of gold to be effective, like Sejuani or Nasus, there's no reason to be greedy. But if you're playing, for example, Shaco or Tryndamere, who really need items to work, then you'll need to try to snowball yourself.

It depends on who's bot and what roles are they playing. Sometimes it's better to let the jungler take the kills, your team will have an "overpowered" character. But I would not recommend stealing from ADC, since he kinda' represents all the late game.

I don't care who gets the kills, I just want the enemy to die. :p
When I'm on a lane and the jungler takes the kill, I'm okay with it, I still get gold from the assist and the jungler gets stronger.

Deliberately trying to let the laner get them is a bad idea. You could easily lose a kill with that. Your purpose is to assure the kill, it doesn't matter as much if the jungler or the laner gets it. What you need to do is give a gold advantage to your laner and that's what you're doing when the enemy laner is dead (losing cs and xp) and your laner is acquiring gold and exp.
