I need a list a few champions to main. I am not super competitive, but I would like to be competent in at least 2 or 3 heroes so as to not feel like crap when I play.

Any details on heroes that are easy to pick up would be nice. Thanks

What type are you looking for?
Dehaka is super easy as he simply refuses to die. Johanna also has very high survivability.

Zagara and Azmodan are both a bit more "defensive" due to their summons and long range attacks.

I'd recommend raynor or diablo because they are tanky and their abilities are simple to execute and if you make mistakes like getting too close to the enemy you won't get punished too much. Probably good enough options to start just to get the hang of it first.

Go for tanky heroes like E.T.C., Sonya, Anubarak. Avoid heroes like Illidan from the get go as he is rather tricky to play.

Ohh and support heroes, if that is your thing, are also a good choice. Something like lt morales is easy to play and very useful for your team. Tassador pretty much excels too at just hanging back, throwing shields and some dmg spells at the enemy.

Supports do lack HP though, so they require some good positioning skill on the part of the player. I won't say that it's particularly easy to play.

The warriors are all generally quite easy to pick up and play. For that class I would recommend Arthas - a fairly durable but solid crowd-control focused warrior with decent damage. Raynor is also very good if you need an assassin; he has a decent amount of damage given that he isn't too squishy, and his kit is not hard to use at all. If you plan on playing him though, I'd definitely recommend taking the Hyperion ult over the Banshees, personally I think the Banshees are dreadful.

Good positioning with most supports, including the two mentioned = have an ally between you and the enemy. It's not THAT hard. :p

Raynor is phenomenal for avoiding damage. That is hugely important for those who are starting off in HotS. They are relatively easy to use in these settings.

Definitely going to have to back up raynor as well. It's not the most complex, wild and out there champ to use, but it helps in the beginning to get a foothold on what you're doing and the pace of the game.

I'd suggest to start with any of the warriors. They are fairly easy to use right off the bat. Their kits are the easiest to use.

Agreed. For beginners I think heroes like this one are the best recommendations because chances are you will die a lot otherwise. The great thing is that even as you progress and learn more these types of heroes still remain fun to play which is a testament to how well designed they are by the developers.

If I were you I would definitely go with Thrall, E.T.C. and Muradin. These heroes are easy to play with especially for beginners. Later on you could learn to play with specialists like Zagara. See you in-game!

Try out Raynor and see how you do with him. I used him when I first started out and did relatively well. After you get used to the game you can branch out and try other champions.
