I watched a release trailer from 2011 again (the one with the song "Machine Gun" by Portishead in the background). They show (amongst others) glimpses of different scenes of the escape from the nazi prison. But, instead of Pavel there is Khan! Has anyone noticed that?

How could that be? Was Pavel's character created later or could the story have had a different plot back then?

I can't post the link to the video, so the title of the Youtube video is "E3 2011: Metro: Last Light - Gameplay Trailer (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)".
