I just looked through the official Ryse website and I just found out you can call out battle calls over the kinect 2. That is awesome. I know kinect doesn't get much love these days, especially how awful it can be and how pointless it has become, but there's a lot of cool stuff that can be done with kinect, hopefully they can do some cool things with it for Ryse.

    Will you use Kinect?

I'm personally looking forward to this game and what kinect can do. combat looks free and fun, graphics look amazing, kinect commands and trigger rumble seem to add to the immersion. I'm impressed

Kinect has been an absolute joke.. Yelling out commands might get old, and certainly won't be usable late at night when my girlfriends asleep..lol...so it'll have it's limitations.. I would like for them to get creative with it. Even something small and intuitive like lets say you can watch a gladiatorial event.. and when the combatant's have bested each other your gladiator looks up at you through the TV and you can give the thumbs up or down signal to to choose whether you want him to kill or spare his opponent.. much to the roaring crowd's cheer to your decision. Little things like that might be cool...

There will be a Kinect for Ryse, but it will probably be a disappointing experience. We have to wait a few more years to be able to control the movements of a game character with precision, now this technology is just for kids.

When I read the title of this thread, I imagined myself standing on top of my coffee table with a controller in one hand and a cardboard sword in another yelling "ATTACK!!!!" at the top of my lungs while pointing at the TV.

    Or is that just me?

And then having to say it another three times because the Kinect didn't pick it up, har har. Seriously though, something complementary that you can use besides the controller that actually WORKS would be amazing to see.

Even if it's just a few basic motion gestures you can do with one hand, Skyward Sword style, or something like voice commands.

If this game were fully kinect driven, people would complain about it even more. War seems awesome to the gamer playing from the comfort of their couch. However, having to go through the motions of combat would be thoroughly exhausting to the usually physically inactive gamer. Check out this youtube video where they made a fully working simulator of Battlfield 3, using Kinect and many other high-end devices to allow you to play the game, but with actual movement, rather than a single controller. Watch how exhausted the guy gets after a little but of time.
