I just got my first two legendaries in LotRO and getting them is not really as complicated an experience as I first thought them to be. This is a positive thing of course -- in other MMOs, legendaries or epic item usually take about a year to finish, and that's with all the grinding and expense that you need for the materials. In LotRO, you can start questing for your legendary by the time your level 45, and your second just a few levels after.

What's good about the legendary system in LotRO is its dynamism and growth. Simply put, you acquire legendary items that 'grow' with you -- they have experience points too -- as you go quest and go along your journey. This is a feature that I really like because it means that I have a lot of things to look forward to. In this case, a legendary item in LotRO starts your epic story -- it's not the endgame.

How about you guys, what's your experience with your legendaries and how far along have you grown with your latest weapon?

I really like many things about the Legendary Item system also. I love the story behind getting your first one. I enjoy how the weapon grows with you and how you can customize it. I have two max level characters with several maxed legendary items.

The downside to the system is how grindy it is. You have to level up many different items to be able to create the perfect one. You need a lot of grinding to get the legacies, legacy tiers, and the settings. They did greatly improve the system by allowing legacy replacement. They are moving in the right direction.

Overall, I like the system and I think it is one of the things that makes the game unique.
