Level up bug?

    Hallo all, I just got an Xbox One for Xmas with Ryse. At the start right before you enter the palace it says you have leveled up and to hit the window button (I think that's what it's called, the 360s select button) to chose a skill. This did not work. Any time now I press the window button it does nothing. If I die, I have 3 choices. A - Retry. B - Quit. Y - Chose a skill. When I hit Y, all that happens is some sound effect that sounds kinda like a sword. I have something like 80,000 points. So how do I level up?

    I hope that I am just being stupid and this is not some bug. Because that would obviously make my game unplayable. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    in the bottom left hand corner when playing campaign mode you will see a bar with read and a large number that is your level up system. you will not unlock anything until you hit level 3 i think. once you do you can use your valor points to purchase executions and all.

    It says I am level 4. Still can't upgrade.

    Also my game menus are completely different from everything i have seen online.
