My sister just recently switched from cable to satellite connection and she can no longer connect to LoL! She plays a whole lot more than I do (almost every night), so this is driving her nuts. She did call the company and they can't seem to help.

Do any of you play using a satellite connection? Does it act up for you or do you have any tips to get LoL to connect again?

Logically there shouldn't be any issue. If she has a problem perhaps it's best to just contact riot support or even her inet provider because there might be an issue with them. Also I'm not sure how satellite connection works, but if she is using a modem it's possible for the modem to be limiting her speed thus affecting the connection to the LoL servers.

I wouldn't even bother since satellite internet will generally have a really high ping. You can try playing but chances are you will piss the other players off.

It's probably from your internet provider, there's definitely something wrong with it, call the technical support and they'll fix it or try to without any additional cost. (depends on the brand)

Personally, I use cable for my internet. It feels more guaranteed to me for some reason. I have a friend who uses satellite internet, and he's quite frustrated with it. He says that he's quite limited to what he can access, so I probably would go back to cable internet if I were you.

Satellite internet does not work for gaming, the ping is literally way too high. That was not a good decision and if she wants to play league she will have to switch back.

You'll probably need to talk to the internet provider again. I had a friend who moved to satellite internet and it just isn't worth it. Your ping can reach past 300+ so playing is nearly impossible.

Actually, 300+ ping is still playable, but it's just not enjoyable.

But overall you should definitely consider switching from satellite.
