I'm currently watching the opening ceremony and so far it has made me feel proud to be British, although I wasn't too sure what to make of the whole Peter Pan thing.
I will probably watch most of the track events, martial arts and maybe the football.
Which parts will you guys be following?

Watched a few minutes of it about half an hour ago. Men on bikes with glowing waving wings on their backs. Wut.

I'll watch most of the bike related (MTB, R.R. and track) events, perhapse the football final, and men's 200m, 100m and 4x 100m running finals.

  4. Eh... I don't see any appeal in a show about millionaires destroying their own bodies.

I normally watch whatever is on at the time. I love the Olympics tbh. Might be lucky enough to get tickets, really don't care what they are for, probably weightlifting. I think for me is just the 'being there' and being able to see a competition what counts.

    edit on 2/08/20102:

finally got tickets for the Olympiscs for last Tuesday, for weightlifting, women 63kg category final. It was fantastic! the atmosphear, everything was great, except the food. a totall rip-off, so in the end my OH and I ended up sharing a £6 baguette for lunch, and that was the cheapest thing we could find, since you are not allowed to take your own food and drink there. however, we got front of the house seats and it was really worth it. once in a life time experience. Loved it!

Damn, we lost both the medal race in finn, and the badminton double final. It's kind of an empty feeling to have won 0 gold medals out of 2 possible. I was actually getting quite pissed towards the end of the badminton final

Yeah I was disappointed that GB weren't doing very well at the start but they seem to have pulled it all together now!

Being a great fan of the jamaican running team I was very happy when they took gold, silver and bronze in the 200m men's :D
And of course, watching legends in the creation live from my couch isn't exactly a waste of time.
