Loot disappearing

I have only been playing a few days so not really sure if this is a patch problem or how long loot actually stays after it drops. A few times tonight now I have had loot drop and it's disappeared less than 30 seconds later before I get over to pick it up. Is anyone else having this issue or is it an issue at all and just how the game works?

Not sure this helps, but did you look in your "claims" section in the store? If your inventory is full then the items get placed into that bin.
