I like the way they said that combat was in this game. The way you could use the environment against some of the enimes. Using there weight to fall through a weak spot on the floor, or sneaking around to get the upper hand on some blind enimes.
The preview looks promising. I like that it revolves around gods, because I love the god themed games a lot, I'll probably enjoy the game a lot more just because of that. I also agree with imagenscape that using the environment against some of the enemies is a great concept, it makes you think about the strategy on how you're going to defeat the enemies.
No need to anymore previews now. This game is out and it's great. You can get in on Steam for a heavy discount right now.
It kind of reminds me of some of the older Zelda games in that aspect. To be honest, I'm happy using the environment is being used more in the RPG genre a lot more. It makes the fight a lot more fun and the outcomes far less predictable.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of Zelda when I heard that! I think this game shows a lot of potential falling somewhere near Dark Souls but with a lot of elements I felt it was lacking.
The environmental feature reminds me of Everquest Next and a bit of Sleeping Dogs. Both games can have their environments utilized against enemies (or in the enemy's favor), and it adds a lot of great dynamics and fun to the game. It adds more to combat than just clicking the left mouse button, and you have to use your brain to get a step up.
Ah! That's why I want this game! I remember severely wanting Dark Souls when it came out as well but ended up vicariously playing it via watching walkthroughs. On the bright side, compared to the earlier Zelda games, the camera angling is much better when it comes to using it in order to take advantage of the environment.
I'm a bit conflicted about the art design. All the armor that I saw in the game looks very pleasing to the eye. If there's a good place to describe something as 'epic' it's here. The characters look majestic. However, with all that said, I keep thinking how terribly impractical they are. I know it's just a game and things like that don't really matter but it's just a thought that keeps popping up every time I look at the characters in this game. I'm also aware that this is a problem for maybe 90% of the RPG's out there haha.
I took a look at this game and on the videos that I saw I think that this game has the potential to be good. I like the look of the combat in the game it is really good.
I wouldn't really agree. The characters look more like beef monsters than any kind of majestic human. They might me impractical IRL, but when you've spent a life battling with heave weapons you might look like that
