So I've done roads and plots, which took a while, complete with road crossings and lights :D. Well in some areas ha ha.

Anyway I decided instead of 4 seperate buildings in the town square I would build one and bridge it, because I thought bridges would look seriously awesome! :D

    What do you guys think?

And before you ask, yes it's taken me for freaking ever. Been months in the making here ha ha.

It looks incredible to me! The arched windows and other features make the building look far less boxy and square, which is a great thing. It looks like you threw some real architecture in there, and that makes everything look better. What else do you plan on adding to the town? I'm excited to see what you can make happen, so keep us updated!

I really like the architecture you incorporate in this build. The old styles of the buildings, the arches are just so perfect. I hope you can continue the city and make it look like an old English town!

I'm wondering if I should have a pillar or two in the middle, underneath the bridges.....but I'm not sure. I mean it's very sturdy looking so it should cover it!

Thanks for the feedback guys! It does look a bit old, kind of English or European I guess. I wasn't sure what I was going for I just had a vision and went with it :D. I'm really happy with it so far, now all I have to do is add rooms and things to it and make it into the buildings I need :D.

Wow... I could never build anything like this. Everytime I try to carry out a large project it never makes it off the drawing board. This is a very well made build, can't wait to see some updates on what you add! :D

Hey this reminds me of some city that I once saw on a public server! Those big windows really make a good impression. Do you plan to continue and expand your city? Maybe differently themed parts like one futuristic, one antique etc. ?

Looks really nice. Way bigger project than anything I'd have the patience for.

You sure can build stuff like this. It takes a while but it's worth it. What I have here isn't all that advanced either. You do get tired of placing dirt blocks around things though ha ha.

Not sure yet how the other buildings will look, but the blocks are quite large so I guess anything is possible!

Well the road and that I did while watching telle so I was basically brain dead the whole time. The building I paid more attention to :D.

This is a seriously great build! Those buildings are fabulous. How much planning do you usually do before you build?

Oh, wow. I'm always so impressed with other people's builds because I can't build anything that even looks half as impressive. Especially not if it's above ground, haha. I really love what you've done with the arches. They're very nice. What's going on in the middle there, with the wooden structure? Is that a little hut or a temporary build to store items? A statue? I dunno, it's kind of far away in the pictures you can see it in. At first I thought it was a fountain without the water flows, but I'm pretty sure that's not it...

Thanks! Not that much normally, I just improvise and go where my mood takes me. Usually I'm inspired and I just keep trying things until something I like happens. So with this one I remembered this gate I saw a picture of in Rome that I am pretty sure is now a tourist attraction. I can't remember the name. Anyway I thought it would be awesome to have the center sort of like that! So I just worked with it and eventually I was successful! :D

If course you can! If I get stuck on something I try to build just that part in creative single player to see how it works out. If it doesn't work out it's okay because I can play around until it does - and I don't have to mine things back or lose resources. Plus I can fly so it's easier.

Haha, that's sweet of you to say but I'm really not the best builder. I am, however, the best on my server as far as technical expertise and mechanics go. So I do have something to be proud of in Minecraft, at least. I do have a lot of fun building and I usually take up all my time in some grandiose project (on one server I spent months building these giant towers and connecting them...the entire idea was to convert the island below into stone and make a labyrinth on regenerating walls) or another. I usually get pretty far but my server resets pretty frequently. I'd be more annoyed but I love building no matter how bad I am with aesthetics and the resets keep me working.

That sounds pretty darn cool though! I've been trying to build one of those sand doors but it's basically a no go lol. I'm not good when it comes to moving blocks with red-stone past the basics. I can follow tutorials though....but sometimes I will not understand how it works. So it's magic to me ;).

I think with building it's just finding your style....I build VERY plain and simply. Some of my friends build with such detail I am stunned....but I can't do that because it does my head in to be honest. I can't even use the original texture pack because everything blurs together...so I might look like a child compared to some of my friends when it comes to building but my style has as much merit as theirs, and is just as good....just in another way. Yours is probably the same - awesome in its own way :D. I'd love to see some of your stuff!!

I'd love to show it off a bit but I apparently didn't take many (if any) screenshots recently. Just one build from last year where I was trying to fuse a tree with machinery (and lava) for a kind of steampunk look. Wanted to see how it would look. I still have a few pictures left, but the project burnt down. I unfortunately overlooked some lava safeties where the pipe gets close to the platform in favor of being overworried about where the pipe actually connected. Silly, really.

    I love this creation!

Upon initial glance it's just a rectangular, boxy shape but once you get to the interior.... WHOA! There is alot of detail and atmosphere added by that awesome courtyard. The windows, the shrubbery, and the lampposts all come together extremely well. The structure and layout looks very aesthetically pleasing.

If this were my awesome creation I'd just add a flag or some vertical structure on the exterior... but that's just me. This is some really nice Minecraft architecture :D

It looks real nice, but it could benefit from a more triangular roof. It could also be nice if you had pictures of the inside. How long did it take you to build this? I own a server and I'm building an initial spawnroom with friends but none of us are very good at building. It's a modded server, so we have tons of blocks at our disposal to build with. Your town hall is a lot nicer than any of use could build.

Wow, it looks amazing. I remember seeing something like this on the public servers. Do you plan on expanding it? Keep us updated too if you do!

That is AWESOME!! Love the use of the tracks too, that's really really cool!!!! :D

I'm not sure how a triangular roof would be shaped for this sort of thing to be honest, and I'm not sure if I might want to build up either. I will probably lay something down but I'm not sure yet. It's inspired by Rome gates which are flat.

The inside at the moment is bare, save for 4 sets of stairs which were insanely trying to figure out ha ha. I have to add some interior to it soon :D. I will probably do some video when I've done some interiors.
