Making gold in wow

Dailies are probably one of the fastest ways if you know what you're doing. With each expansion there should be areas/zones where daily quests are available. Most reward pretty high and it can be fairly good gold per hour and doesn't require any professions either. Don't rule out grinding either, with AoE looting now you can earn pretty good gold with it if you find the right spot.

 

I've found alchemy to be a nice way to make gold. Logging in and doing transmutes everyday (bonus points for transmute spec!) is super easy and there's always a need for living steel. Sure beats farming herbs for hours, but arguably less profitable, but also less work! I've always heard a lot of addon "tradeskillmaster". I've never used it personally, but from what I've heard it really makes making gold a breeze. Perhaps try checking that out?

 

If you can solo warbringers just get invited to a low populated server and farm those. If you are lucky you can easily make 5-10k in 2-3 hours. Farming clothes is the other best option especially if you are on a high populated server and you have tailoring to craft malevolent gear to sell. Selling the raw stacks of windwool cloth is fine as well.
Alchemy isn't bad as sjhw said, but you can only transmute once a day so... not that much gold in there.

Jewelcrafting can be profitable if you farm your own ores, but in my opinion it's still not worth it.

I personally just do the farms on all my characters and do a round of warbringer killing. If I get lucky I get about 5-6k gold in 1 hour if not at least 2-3k. Don't bother doing anything more since I already have few hundred thousands saved up and I don't really have anywhere to spend them lol.

 

At lower levels you just need to farm. At higher levels and with higher skill levels, you can craft a lot of items that turn a great profit. Just watch the market and see what people want, then craft that. I made a lot of money before the holidays from people who wanted all kinds of fireworks.

 

Usually, I look on the auction house to see what rare world-drop item is very expensive and go farm for it. Usually the mobs that drop these items will drop a lot other items by the time your item does so you will have lots of items to put on the Auction House plus a few items that might actually be useful to you (for professions and what not).

 

There are 100,000,000,000 guides out there that are great for making gold. Google it up.

 

The best way to earn gold is to not think about it. Do quests, raids, dungeons, or whatever you'd like, and the gold will come. There's no need to explicitly grind for gold. If there's an item you want from the AH that you can't afford, perhaps you can try obtaining that item yourself. Remember, when the game started, no players had any gold, so all items were originally obtained without gold.

 

Most of my gold comes from doing dailies and selling the mats I get from my farm. I have 6 characters with a farm and I usually grow ore, cloth, or herbs each day. It's a great way to make some good gold.
