Mana potions - really needed?

A big buzz killer that determined me not to play this game that much anymore is the decision of Riot, which to me is quite unfounded to say the least, to remove mana potions from the game. Why not remove health potions in the process as well? It would have the same impact. And now those OP champions like Tryndamere will be able to endlessly spam their abilities while those other champions, regardless of the mana regeneration boost they've got, will have to struggle to keep up.

    What do you personally think?

I personally do not think that the removal of mana potions has affected the game play much. I feel that AP casters or AD casters that are mana hungry would most likely go the RoA/Serapah's Embrace or Essence Reaver route anyways which makes mana more or less a non-issue. Maybe it's a matter of style of playing, now to think about it, I rarely buy mana potions back in the day even for champions like Ezreal and Swain.

I think that the removal of them was not needed because they did not accurately replace them. I feel like they needed to give it another item similar to mana potions like for example a potion that you can buy multiple of that gives a little bit of health and mana. Many champions were indirectly nerfed due to the removal of those potions. Also flask got nerfed so those champions were also indirectly nerfed for more farm heavy laners

It was a tricky decision. On the other hand flask start champions that also abused mana potions to harass lane were really obnoxious and you couldn't push them from lane anyhow, especially if they had waveclear.

Mana potions were far less used then health potions, but it's quite the unbalancing decision to leave health potions in the game. I don't really think that mana potions are mandatory. In my opininion it's wiser to spend your money on items to get buffed.

Well, I think it was a radical decision but one that pushed a lot of OP champions back, I guess it was needed in a way. You still have the flask though. :p

I only bought them I was supporting so it didn't really affect me. I kinda miss going shen top and bringing a mana pot for the bm.

I don't think it has changed the gameplay all that much. It's a matter of your playing style. Some would definitely find the potions more effective over others.

The health potions were far more useful than the mana potions. It depends on the players and the effectiveness of the potions. Some will use it based on there playstyle.

I think it's ok, just change your item build if you find yourself always short on mana.

The mana potions were not useless, but you couldn't call them useful either. I personally rarely bought mana potions so I don't really miss them. I only miss them on ARAMs to be honest, but during normal 5v5 games, the removal of mana potions hasn't influenced the game that much.

I actually used more mana potions than health potions. I think it was a key element of mid-lane, but I trust Riot's decisions. It's their company after all.

I logged on for the first time in months recently and discovered that mana pots were gone. I was slightly irritated because I really like to go hard when I'm playing mana users and those things were my saving grace. Does anyone feel like it upsets the balance with Riot not bothering to yank health potions out as well?

I personally think that it all depends on what hero you're playing and how agressive you are while fighting the lane, however if you are one of those players who generally like harassing the enemy and casting as many spells as they can without even think about it then you should get ahold of a good ammount of mana pots, otherwise you should not whatsoever.

One of the stupidest they ever had, it affected in a very bad way the meta. Anyway I still find the game to be funny, maybe even more puzzling, as now you have to distribute one of your resources, which is mana, a lot more carefully through the game and the duels of it.
