Map Ideas?

    I have been thinking about starting a map building team with my friends, or it might just be a team of 1. I wanted some ideas of map ideas, and then again I wanted to know what ides have you guys all came up with when thinking about getting a map, or making your own maps.

    I like the idea of a Labyrinth map with pistons/command blocks to change the available routes after a period of time. You could make it like the Greek story and have some crazy mod boss at the end. Has something like that been done before?

    You should consider making a map of the settings of one of your favorite cartoons, anime, or games. I find it to be extremely amazing when someone is able to pull something like that off. And if you decide to, you should definitely let us know which you choose and post a picture of it here! However, i do think that it's pretty cool to create mazes as well. Jackhark's ideas are pretty awesome as well. I'm a pretty big fan of Greek mythology and I haven't seen anyone build any maps like that yet, so that'd be a pretty awesome idea if you did that, as well!

    I always find something I know very well like my house interesting to build on minecraft because you can compare how similar they are

    I enjoy making maps based off of books.
    Partly because most of the information you would need is already in the book (especially apocalyptic books where there aren't that many NPCs to worry about), and partly because I know my friends have never read those books, so they wont predict the ending of my adventure map.

    I really like the idea of turning of the explosions of creepers (so that they only damage the player, and not the landscape) and then making a zombie apocalyptic maze. Survive AND find your way to the end.

    That sounds amazing! I'd love to play a map based on a book of my childhood or even adulthood!
