There isn't much news on this yet, as right now it is just an empty claim. But apparently someone who knows about the deal stated that Microsoft is offering Mojang 2 Billion Dollars for the rights to Minecraft.

Now, since there is not much news to this and it has NOT been confirmed, please keep the replies civil, here are the news sources that are already reporting it, saying it is "developing the story further" I will add more news sources as they appear.

And if we could actually be mature about this and not go hysterical with jokes about what Microsoft would do with Minecraft in it's hands that would be great. Thanks.

We can go hysterical with jokes about you being days late to the party instead. Mojang is now under Microsoft to the tune of $2.5 billion, a fair valuation of a valuable property AKA Minecraft.

Great deal for Mojang. Minecraft is already fading out, not sure what Microsoft is going to do about it, but they better act fast.

Are you a time traveler? Are you The Doctor? Do you have a TARDIS? lol Just kidding. But for-real...where have you been man? This was a news story that they announced the proposal a month ago and then like two weeks later it was official. There isn't much news on it because this news has already come and gone. There are a ton of threads on here that ask what we think the outcome of the buy will be. You missed the train just a tad. But you can fix it with your time machine so I guess it's ok. I personally only see good things coming from this unless they make online play a member only type of thing or something.
