Minecraft 1.9?!

    "1.9, known as The Combat Update, is an upcoming update to Minecraft with no set release date. It is currently listed on the bug tracker as "Far Future Version - 1.9+" and has been mentioned by the Minecraft developers."

    So I got this from the Minecraft Wiki. Looks like they'll be focusing on combat, as it has mentioned. How do you guys feel about this?

    It's been a pretty long time since we got an update, wouldn't you say? I mean I remember Minecraft went from the 1.7 stage to 1.8 about half a year ago.

    I expect the addition of more enchantments and new weapons to fight with assuming it is a combat update.

    Well, that news is a big one for me. I like to have a new weapons and armors, I know they have it in mods but I want official things from them. This would be fun.

    I'd like more information on the update for sure, sounds big but it could be anything, are they just adding new enemies and armors and weapons or are they planning on doing some sort of combat system overhaul? Can only speculate with the restricted amount of information about it

    I think that whatever happens with 1.9, it'll have to be something that fits into the rest of the game really well, because this'll be the first proper update released since Microsoft bought the game.

    Has anyone been informed about any potential release dates or any leaked content? I haven't checked on it in a while. Hopefully it'll come out soon!

    I am hoping it'll better improve combat and combat equipment. An update has been long overdue, and I'm pretty excited that they may be having another.
