I recently bought it, and if I'm honest, It's MUCH better than I expected. It's very fluid, and the controls are easy to get used to. It was somewhat expensive, but I'm starting to think it was worth it for the price.

Has anyone played Minecraft on this console? If so, what were your inicial thoughts?

It's getting closer to the PC version ever so slowly, although the Xbox One version is so much better than the 360 version, if you ask me.

I think it would obviously be better on the 360. The game is optimized for the video card of the Xbox 360, so it would definitely run smoother. When I do get myself a console, I would definitely go for Minecraft too!

Optimized for the video card of the 360? Well, it was optimized for the PC first, so...

It basically has endless replay value. Of course it's worth it. I had it on PC since beta and bought it on the 360 to play with some friends. It's as fun as the day I bought it. Being able to relax on the couch while playing it is a big plus.

I couldn't get myself use to the controller as much as I was with my keyboard, but that's just me. It does run smoother on the 360 and does have an easier time loading and such rather than it on my laptop, though.

That's the only console I play it on. I used to play Beta when Notch was still a kid in his basement doing his thing, but I've since switched to console versions. If you want to add me, xX Shimus Xx is my Live tag, and just drop a message/friend request that says "Wanna play MineCraft?" or something. I enjoy a fun time and I can build many a cool structure.

I like the game on Xbox, although the controls are really not my cup of tea. That being said, sometimes it can even run better than the PC version.
They did a good job with it on this console.

Yeah they did. I've been headlong into it with my neighbor down three apartments just crafting and mining away - never glitched or lagged aside from when you get in/out of menus/crafting menus while playing Multiplayer HD Splitscreen.

But other than that, I've already created a rail system underground that extends from one side of the map to the other and re-cobbled it all to look pretty. Lemme tell ya, 20 diamond pickaxe unbreaking/effeciency 3/4 later I'm only half done. So smooth, no lag. Beautiful Job. My computer might still have choked a bit.

The only reason I think it CAN run so well is Xbox seeds are tiny in comparison to PC generated ones.
