Minecraft with guns?

    I just wonder whether its at all a good idea to put in firearms into this game? Because we have the gun powder, we have iron and other metals, so I figure making bullets, a barrel, and a triggering mechanism wouldn't be too hard. Maybe you could hand load it at first and later on, after refining a lot of metal and building the proper molds, have clips to reload with?

    I think the only issue is that it might make fighting mobs too easy if the materials are easily replenished or farmable. What I would like is to have more challenging mobs - faster and tougher, and to increase the damage done by the sword so that its still useful for those who want to melee. I think in that case it might be good to create a shield.

    Grenades might also be fun :).

    Well they technically already have certain mods that you can put guns into the game with I believe. I would rather keep it to being the way it is though as they already have a Minecraft like game with guns that is called "7 Days to Die" Minecraft is more of the Medieval like setting, which I would rather have than guns any day!

    This sounds awesome! I'm sure this has already been implemented in some way but most likely not exactly as you described. The possibilities would be endless if this was done correctly.
    Imagine a PvP server with guns and gernades! Too cool.

    I myself don't think that it's a good idea. You see, if you look at what minecraft is now, you'll see that it is a medieval sort of game. There are no modern things like items or tools in it. Minecraft may be taking place a long time ago. That's what gives the game it's great success, IMO.

    They would have to not be realistic looking. Didn't Terraria and Starbound manage to get away with it? I think they could pull it off but they either pull it off well or it will look extremely stupid.

    I would actually love to have guns in Minecraft. They don't have to even be powerful or anything but they should leave an impact. I would also finally have a use for all this extra gunpowder in my chests.

    It would be an interesting add-on to the game and really affect game play. Whether it'd be a good change or not, I don't know! I think it could be really cool in PVP. But as others have said, Minecraft is kind of based in that medieval time period and guns wouldn't make up with the lore.

    I don't think Vanilla Minecraft needs guns. There are already many mods for this for those who want them. Vanilla Minecraft already has ranged weapons, like bow and arrow, and I think that guns would be too overpowered.

    I don't think that vanilla minecraft will get any guns. The developer has been busing update after update, it have you seen anything as modern as guns in any one of those updates? They just don't fit into minecraft that well (well, vanilla minecraft at least).

    I already think vanilla has too many things in the first place, but at the same time, you would never know about those extra things without looking them up or finding out from other players. If you are playing in single player it really wouldn't hurt to add guns to the game. If you don't like them, you will never have to experience them and you can play without crafting them. The great thing about Minecraft is that it can be as simple or as advanced as you want it to be.

    I don't really think it would suit the game. I agree with the poster who said it would make the game too easy as well.

    I'll stick with my bow.

    I believe there is a smartphone game that kind of incorporated this? I mean, of course it's on smartphone so it hardly compares to PC Minecraft, but I guess it could give you a taste of what it would be like to have guns in Minecraft. I personally would like to just stick with the old bow.

    The only type of firearm I could see being introduced would be a very basic musket but nothing more complicated than that.

    I think it would be a little overpowered. You could easily kill dozens of mobs with a single gun, because their intelligence is a bit archaic.

    There's a gun mod out there for Minecraft! It's actually really cool because you can use a rocket launcher! I think guns in Minecraft would make it really interesting, but it will sort of change the a game a lot. It can be quite overpowered, so I don't think that it'll be added.

    I prefer Minecraft's "primitive" gameplay style. To me, I feel that adding guns would take away from this unique style. If you do want guns in Minecraft though, there are mods that support this function.

    It's kinda hard to use guns if you don't have a high sensitivity and they are usually pretty powerful, making it difficult to fight with considering how easy it is to damage people.
