Mining with annoying people.

I always play with friends to avoid these kind of people, but when I meet them I make sure to stay far far away. I played in a public server once where I helped a guy to find somewhere safe to build and mine, then the guy decided we were best "friends", I would build something and he would move on with me, when I mined he was there taking the loot and not giving back...I ended trapping him in obsidian and ran like Forrest Gump.

 

I've experienced something similar to what Maranesi described, except instead of actually helping the guy find a spot to build his home, I helped him out by giving him a bit of my resources to start off. The guy then decided to make his house latching on to mine, and it was so irritating, like legitimately attached to mine, and even after I told him to leave, he still kept doing whatever he was doing.

 

I've played on public servers before. There's a lot of bratty little kids out there who follow you when you mine. I just disconnect or go to spawn and mine somewhere else. It's not worth mining with people who just leech ores off of you!

 

Yeah I had this one time where this guy was new and wanted to follow me everywhere I went, specially in mining. I would find diamonds and mine them, he would jump in front of me and take them. So from now on I TRY to mine by myself. Because other people just ruin it.

 

Ugh I hate mining with my little sister. She always messes up the mining stairs and it just ends up looking uneven and not perfect anymore. It also annoys me how people would start attacking me while mining and cause me to drop my stuff.

 

I once mined with a guy who would continually grief my stuff. Like he would say that he was going up to get pickaxes but I knew he was griefing because when I went back up there, I saw a completely different house from when I went down into the mine. Admins didn't even do anything. He came back the next day to finish the "job." I hated that server.

 

Eh. If there are annoying people like that, you know what I do? I go and kill them. I don't really care about what happens to my friends when they act like a retard haha.

 

I was playing with a group of friends and there was this guy who decided to join in, no big deal, right? Wrong. He destroyed almost everything that we had already built, he flooded and ruined the tunnels that we had been working desperately on. The best part? When we tried talking to him, he just quit. It was so irritating for all of us.

 

That's upsetting and really childish. Sorry to hear that happened :/

 

If anyone on my server does that kind of stuff, they get a 4 day ban at least (standard ban for disrupting the community), but if someone did that kind of stuff to me on another server, I'd probably just teleport somewhere (like spawn) so they can't follow me, and mine somewhere else.

 

Annoying people on Minecraft always ruin the experience and destroy my fun.

 

Yup, I've had a "grieifing team" go on my server once and proceed to take all my valuable possessions and destroy all of my huge buildings. I did not have a backup plugin at the time.

 

Haha you got griefed on your own server? If it's your server you can just kick and ban them can't you?

 

Fight fire with fire man. They think they're the worst person to play with, show them otherwise haha! A good ol flint and steel should be all you need to get your message across.

 

Well, It all happened while I was AFK, and also after they had griefed it, they had somehow managed to crash my server.

 

Yep. There are ways for griefers to get pasts protections permissions etc if you're not careful, it sucks.

 

That's why I only play with my friends on a private server. You can decide who gets in and you can play with who you want to play. A small number of people is better than a large one, due to the potential of griefers, imo.

 

I run a server, and as long as you're relatively careful, and have something like coreprotect installed, it's difficult to do anything. I think coreprotect really is the most useful anti griefing tool you can get.

With that said, the entire thing is useful if you can't stop the people coming back, so it's always good to have enough server staff that there's always someone online to make sure nothing bad can happen.

 

That's just unlucky, griefed and ddosed you need to add security on your server and some admins
