Mirror's Edge

I played it and it's an unique, but not perfect game. If you can get it for €10,- or less, I would definitely buy it. My biggest complaint is that the shooting is getting to much attention in the latest levels, so it loses a bit of it's unique feel, it's also very short. Anyway, if you like the art style and the running gameplay, I would highly recommend it.

 

What I liked: the sterile environments really capture the feeling of being imprisoned in a totalitarian city, the phenomenal ambient soundtrack and the main character's body animations.
What I disliked: the plot is too simple, cliché & predictable for its own good, the cutscenes look like stretched out poorly drawn Tampon-adverts and the extra Time Trial courses are incredibly frustrating.
Contrary to what Hoenkoper said; shooting is entirely optional and can easily be avoided. In fact, the Test of Faith achievement/trophy encourages the player to finish the game without shooting anybody.

I don't think there's anything quite like it out there... If you manage to find a cheap copy (let's say for a tenner), you can't go wrong.

 

I have only played it briefly but the way that your character moves etc, is smooth and I thought pretty well done. Not played it recently though so I couldn't really be much help.

 

I haven't played it, but my brother has completed the game and I've seen him play it. It definitely does look unique and original. I'd say get it - it should be pretty cheap now and it's always good to experience something new in gaming.

 

I've already finished the game, and I really enjoyed it, my biggest complain is that it's short, but if you manage to find a cheap copy (I bought it for $5) it becomes a very fun game to play, another problem: it is very much a trial-and-error, in some levels, you have to die countless times to find out the right path, but it doesn't happen often

 

Never got the story but yes i recommend it
