  4. No, srsly, pre-order cancelled and all that.

Without an ability to adjust FOV a lot of people can't enjoy the game at all. How can you enjoy it if it causes nausea within minutes?

Ah not that. But Don't make assumptions on that one thing is what I mean. I mean seriously ask the devs first if there is a fov slider.

If i rerember right you can change a FOV in the files for most games (Half life 2 for example)

Sorry but without a FOV slider I cannot play the game.... and I'm not going to hack .ini files to get questionable FOV too like in Dead Island.

No wonder the answer to this question has been dodged a million times, when a simple yes or no will do.

The PhysX in the video looked amazing though and OMG 3 Titans I wonder what FPS he was getting at that res?

As soon as I get excited by the game again a video crops up (Thanks Komodo ) which gets me down again.

Awesomeness should be increasing with every video, not leaving you sad. :pop2:

Well you can change the FOV in the original Metro with the ini. files. I don't know why they simply can't put such an obviously necessary feature in a modern PC FPS. I don't think it's that hard to implement in-game either if people can simply change the value in some file. I really hope pew is reading this thread.

No FOV option? Balderdash! Having an FOV option is mandatory for a first person shooter.

Graphical options are mostly in presets again? Boo.

It's extremely important for PC gamers. We're closer to the screen and it's a smaller screen. We see what's going on better than a console gamer so if the field of view is messed up people do get motion sickness and many times makes the game unplayable. My cousin had Dead Island for PC and when I went over to try it out I almost threw up because it made me extremely sick.

I haven't pre-ordered the game because I want the ranger mode to be a general thing. If Ranger mode isn't in the game from the start I'm not even going to buy the game. I'm just going to watch a walkthrough and I'd even maybe most like try not to, but if it happens (like Cerberus said) I'll pirate it. I'm not going to support this kind of bullshit.

I play on PC and have not experienced any kind of nausea, dizziness or anything even in that direction when playing Metro 2033, but I don't doubt that it can occur.
But what is it like? Seasickness?

You get a head ache. But I really do think we should atleast ask the devs about this. As this is an early build and many games only let you change fov on the main menu and not when in game.

Darkbringer, some people do not feel bad when playing with a low FOV, I never had a problem with Metro, but my friend, just like Shufire said, can't play Dead Island, he told me the screen is in a weird angle and he gets headaches after playing for some time. Totalbuscuit have a video where he explains why it's so important to have a FOV bar on PC games.

I can tell you as far that there will be no need to pirate it :)
Also keep in mind that THQ were the ones who were so desperate to put up that 'bullshit'. Deep Silver has never deserved that we pirate their game :)

No FOV slider is a huge disappointment; I really do hope they've changed it since that build of the game. It's not something that will dissuade me from buying the game, but it will certainly make the experience of playing it much less realistic or immersive and it will generally be less pleasant.

If it's not in the options menu hopefully it'll be possible to change it in the config file. The default FOV was very cramped in Metro 2033 and there wasn't an FOV slider in the options, but you could change it in the config.
