Mod dependency or not?

IMO, it's really ridiculous what Mojang is doing with Minecraft. I hate how they're making all these new, unnecessary things like new biomes, horses that are, let's be honest, sub-par at best, etc. See, what it does, is it makes the game less simple. The cool thing about Minecraft is its simplicity, which increases the reliance on mods. I think that a lot of the new, stuff that they're adding should just be handled by mods.
On the other hand, I can see how people who are not heavy modders would like their vanilla Minecraft to be jam-packed with cool stuff.
What do you think? Should Minecraft be dependent on mods?

No, I like the features to be honest and it really hasn't lost it's simplicity to be honest.. A few additions aren't going to change that..

I like the features, and if you every really dislike the new changes, you can always go to previous versions of the game.

I think that Mojang should focus on making modding easier for modders and making installing mods as easy as possible. It should also focus on optimization of its game, rather than aimlessly adding features that nobody asked for and then throw in 1 feature that took everyone yelling forever for it to be added. Their first priority should be the modding API in my opinion.

I kind of miss the days when things were kind of basic, but while these things might not add much to the game, they don't take much away either because you don't really have to partake in a lot of the newer features

I like them. But, they're never going to add all the things that mods have.. It's nice to have things for people that don't know how to install mods (like, most children, for example)

I like the features. And the mods we are adding was the things we want in our world. It's your choice. If you don't want the new version you can play the old version.

I think the idea is that if they're built into the game without needing to have any mods, you'll be able to use them on any server much more easily.

Once something becomes such a common mod that everyone has it, it just gets built into the game. A good example of this is that mojang is building the ability of WorldEdit into command blocks.

I agree. I don't like these new updates, they are too time consuming and boring and making the game into a simulator. I like the un-realism of the game .It makes it more fun.

I like all of the updates. If you don't like the updates, you don't need to use them. If you don't like horses, then you don't need to ride them. If you don't like using redstone, then don't use redstone. If you don't like the new biomes, then don't go there.

If you don't like McDonalds, don't go to McDonalds. If you don't like Ford trucks, then don't buy them. If you don't like the taste of Brie cheese, then don't eat them.

Mojang can't just not update Minecraft. It has to appeal to an ever wider audience as more and more people pick up the game. If it didn't add such features, then people would be complaining about the lack of content.

I like most of the updates that they've done, but there are a few that I'm unimpressed with and would prefer if it was with the mods.

I agree, but not with stuff like horses and biomes. It's cool to explore new areas like a jungle or savanah because it doesn't take the simplicity away from minecraft. Same with horses, they don't really make the game any different than what it would be.
