More races might be added post launch.

According to Zenimax, there will be 3 races per alliance, 9 in total. Sadly, some races where left out, but the developers are thinking of implementing new races in one of the upcoming patches. You can read the full interview HERE.
What races would you like to see added in the future?

That's a horrible idea. Yeah obviously they will do it because most people will be "OMG more races to play with, how cool!" while in reality they should already have been included in the original version.

Especially in a MMORPG playing for months and months building your character... and then they release the race you originally wanted to play with which pretty much forces you to start all over again? No thanks.

One more example of companies using DLC's etc just to release the game ASAP and then add stuff afterwards.

Hm, not sure how I feel about this for the reasons that crimsonghost mentioned. I remember when Blood Elfs were released on WoW and the more recent race changes with WoW as well. I see it as being a bad move in many cases...

I hope they focus on quality and not quantity. I worry that in five years time the game will be convoluted with any half-breed and sub-race that has so much as a footnote in the lore of the series.

I agree with this. I think the races we have are good enough. Like some post above me said, we need some quality instead of quantity.

I'd definitely prefer them to keep the races minimal and focus on doing proper lore/animations etc. for the existing races which will be implemented. Through customization/classes etc. everyone will look different anyway, to me Elder Scrolls sounds like it has potential and the last thing I want is for it to go the same way as WoW.

But we already know how it's going to go. The game will be released and a couple of months later "buy the new dark elf DLC for only $9.99"

I personally think it would be wise to just focus on the game I mean they can always add more races down the road maybe this is an attempt to lure people in that are on the fence on buying the game.

I think that for companies to be able to earn more revenue, they need to do the 'in app' purchase method to appease their investors. This sounds like an example of it. They will release this version of the game, the fans will complain, and then they put out a paid patch to appease us.

I ma not that interested in more races to be honest. I have played enough of them now. I will stick to nord or imperial race which looks like a human, and build my character.

I'm not really sure, maybe add a one of the rare snow elves? And make them a playable class - and every time someone talks to you (NPC). They would be like "woaaah, holy bananas! Are you a snow elf?"

If you don't know what a snow elf is, buy dawnguard - it's awesome :)

I think I'd rather have more class options in the future than racial choices. This maybe be a biased opinion, but I believe they've already covered the majority of the races that most people would like to play as. Elder Scrolls is known for its flexibility especially in its class creation so it's really logical to assume that adding more classes would be the way to go.
