Most Gold Received...

I'd say it's boe from the raid even then,it didn't sell for 10k because it's been out a while. I am pretty unlucky with drop and selling items. I'd see or hear people say they make a lot from selling this or that, when I put it up, no one would buy it!

 

I don't remember what it was, but I was able to get 7k for it. From what I recall it wasn't anything special, but I guess the game thought otherwise. I wish I could remember what it was.

 

I once got a level 40ish epic BoE shield from an Ogre in Feralas, I forget the exact name of the item but I sold it for something stupidly low like 200-300g, heart nearly skipped a beat when it dropped though.

 

Since I'm playing on a private server, gold is easily farmed. I had a couple of gold caps spread over my toons!

 

I've made around two thousand on a dead server from selling the randomly dropped pets in low level zones. With less than twenty people online at any given time, I can generally farm these areas to my heart's content without being bothered.

 

I've made about 8k selling a rare transmog too, probably the most I've ever made in one transaction - though I don't really play the economy that much and prices in my server are pretty low

 

I was an engineer and sold a Motorcycle for like 15k I think.It was awesome.

 

I think the biggest item that I've ever sold was for 2k gold, but I've had really bad luck with drops and stuff since I started playing the game again, and back then 2k gold was a TON! I've been amazed by how much the prices have inflated since the last time I was playing, where now some of the things that used to cost like 2 or 3 gold cost hundreds.

 

I have my private server were I play with my friends, and we changed the settings so gold will be more hard to obtain from boss fights and selling items. We can now obtain a considerable amount of gold only from difficult quests or certain monsters. I believe that 5k was the biggest amount from a quest that took 7 hours to complete in 5 persons.

 

The most expensive item I've sold this xpac? It would have to be the 553 cloth belt I crafted a couple weeks ago. It sold for 25k but the prices have dropped significantly since then, much to my dismay. Crafted items are a pain like that; people forget that while you're just pressing a button you're still blowing a 24 hour cool-down and that cool-down could be used to make something else. I don't see the point in wasting my celestial cloth cool-down on a belt selling for 6k now.

 

There are a lot of vanity pets I have sold for over 20k. There is a pet named the ´Filthling´ that was released a couple months ago. It was bugged when the major patch was released and didn´t drop at all, and then a few weeks later the bug was fixed rather silently. I farmed 5 of them and sold them for 20k each on different servers. Vanity pets are definitely the easiest things to sell for alot of gold.

 

Vanity pets are a great one! We were farming G'nathus, the large eel out off Towlong Steppes for a while for guild money. For about a month he was a solid 5k gold in the guild bank. People get interested in pet battling in waves, so sometimes there's a great market for them and other times there isn't. Transmog items are also great money makers if you have the patience to farm for world BoE's.

 

I think I'm going to win this one. The most gold I have ever received in WoW is 300k. I bought myself a WoW TCG Booster Pack when I had some spare money just because I loved opening those packs. When I started looking through them I found a loot card with a redeemable code. I quickly went to Booty Bay and got my Feldrake mount.
I decided that I don't want to keep it, because it didn't look good enough to justify not selling it for 300k gold. I posted it on the AH a couple of times and after about a week it was sold.
