Most Pleasant and Annoying places - in Skyrim

Discussion in 'Skyrim' started by stupidshashlmao, Jun 27, 2015.

  1. Since I'm pretty new at it - (level 21 - Wood Elf). I've really only been doing things in 3 cities/towns in Skyrim...Whiterun, Riften, Windhelm...Whiterun, I find pleasant, and interesting. Everybody there, seems to have some cool folkloric and sometimes funny stories...
Then, recently I have been in Riften. And it seems like that whole town is - Uptight, and a little rude, and needs some serious therapies (of whatever sort). - I haven't spent enough time in Windhelm

I'm asking an opinion, on what you think is the most cool and interesting cities in Skyrim ?
    Pick one or two

Riften is great for one specific reason. I don't know how far you've gone or how you play the game so I won't mention it. I also like how the city is structured.

The other city I like is Solitude. Aside from its awesome (and relatable) name, the house you can buy there is wonderful. I don't remember if I bought all the houses in Skyrim but that one was the most impressive I'd seen in the game.

The places I really like are actually NOT populated by people at all. Eldergleam Sanctuary and Ancestor Glade.
Both little hidden away gems in Skyrim. I love it when you first enter these places. Unfortunately after that, things go downhill pretty quickly. But I try to savor the serenity for as long as I can.

I find the center of the Wind district in Whiterun to be very relaxing. The gentle water, the benches, the sun, the relative lack of monsters. I can even block out the Talos monk. o_O

Also, the view from the patio in Solitude is pretty nice, would be a nice place for a relaxing goblet of coffee in the mornings.

Riften is a crappy place to be honest. I'm not going to spoil anything for you, but if you play the game long enough, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Apocrypha is pretty damn relaxing (if you mean Skyrim the game, not the province). I don't know but... if you get your hands on a Black Book, it doesn't matter where you come from, how you look, how many people are after you for doing something without a saved file to bail you out, you go there. To that place made of wooden books (swing a weapon against the walls and they make wooden sounds, unless my game is broken), the summit of knowledge, alone. All this time you were given orders like a dog all day, but here? Here you do it if you want. There is no "Do it for me" nor "Do it or we all die!". This is purely yourself (except the quest related ones), and you can enjoy every last bit of it. (Seriously though, Seekers and Lurkers are a huge pain to kill and feel super beefy no matter what weapon I use against them)

The most annoying place so far for me is the Soul Cairn (Dawnguard main quest)... I was so glad to be out again!

The cities I like most are Markarth and Riften. I like the special atmospheres of both. Ah well and Solitude is the one with the most beautiful scenery of course.

White run was the most pleasant place on Skyim. Riften is good but there's something on that city. And also Windhelm was the most annoying? or not it's like a dull place to me.

I think that Riften is the most annoying for me, because it always makes me feel uneasy, with the shady allure of that city and all...

Whiterun is by far my favorite town and place, and it's the most pleasant in my opinion, because it really feels like home: the town is peaceful and bright, with a lot of friendly NPCs.

I think Whiterun is the most pleasant and accessible place in the game. You can easily find your way around that place. I always hated Markarth though, those terraces and multi tier buildings were just plain annoying.
