    It's probably outdated just as everything else regarding that. If they were going to announce it, don't you think they'd do it in a more flashy way than a short sentence at the bottom of the Gamestop page? ;)

    Skaara is probably right, public gamestop info can be pretty outdated sometimes. Also in the interview posted in the "what do we know about the developers" thread a guy from Deep Silver confirmed that multiplayer had been scrapped some time ago.

    It was put on hold in 2012. The links with the multiplayer announcement are long gone due to THQ being dead and websites changing hands.

    Thats true, but its something to talk about untill the game comes out.

    It would be so awesome if they did it right and it was something new and fresh instead of the same old first person multiplayer. Imagine having to constantly search for filters on surface maps as you play, that would be so awesome. They could even add in mutants that hunt people as the match goes on. The maps in the metro would be standard shooter fare, i suppose, but with the metro last light realism and all its mechanics it would still be different, and way more fun.

    I really hope they do multiplayer dlc after launch. I would be willing to pay for it.

    Yeah, but for a game like this, having to pay for multiplayer dlc would mean very few people would be playing it. Therefore, it would fail, being super hard to find a match.

    Hmm, good point. Maybe if the game does well and they market it extremely well? idk, its possible the dlc would be free(i doubt that, though) but I am really hoping for multiplayer, it would be so different.

    What do you think this is cd projekt? Or cig? Da hell guys?
    These are the same people charging for a difficulty, imagine what they would charge for a full new type of game they'd have to develop.

    The Ranger DLC for Metro 2033 was also free Stalker (on PC), It was also THQ's idea to ask money for the Ranger difficulty in Last Light, not 4A or Deep Silver.

    I'm not saying they should give it away for free, if they make it, but they should not charge money for multiplayer mode, as it would fail. IF they can get very good sales on LL, and hype multiplayer, maybe. But otherwise, it would not work.
