Must-Have Mods?

Like I posted, I am interested in getting Skyrim for my PC as well.

What mods would you say are a must-have mod? Why?

I know someone mentioned a mod that makes the menu more PC friendly... I'd assumed that would be one.

Clean install. Backpack mod. Some multiple followers mod, like Ultimate Follower Overhaul. Interesting NPCs (adds a lot of new quality NPCs with voice-acting with their own questlines and possibility of being followers). Cloaks of Skyrim & Winter is Coming (both add cloaks to the game, including awesome fur ones, a must-have. Immersive weapons and Immersive armors (adds new weapons and armors to the game that are very lore-friendly, look great, and are balanced in regards to Vanilla weapons, and the mod handplaces new weapons in special locations which is pretty neat).

That will be a good setup for your first Skyrim playthrough on the PC, just adds lore-friendly and convenient stuff that won't change your playthrough TOO much. For a second playthrough, there's all sorts of game overhauls, but that's a good start for a begginer so you still have the original experience, just enhanced.

Should the NPC mod be downloaded as soon as I get it, or after I'd done some of the normal quests? I have played through the whole game (Xbox), so honestly, I probably wouldn't go through the entire storyline to begin with... Would you suggest a different set up since I already know the original?

You download everything before you start a new game. It's generally not safe to add mods in the middle of a playthrough as that tends to cause conflict with the scripts that you might not notice right away.

Try Perkus Maximus then, or Requiem. They add difficulty and completely re-worked perk trees and a lot of good stuff, search for the names in the Nexus and give it a shot!

    I assumed but I wasn't sure.
Sweet, sounds great. Is the perk tree better in your opinion then?

It is much better. It has more detail and more meaningful, exciting perks, more focused on giving you new effects and abilities rather than just increase percentages in a given ability, which is quite boring.

So rather than just buffing you, it gives you the chance to be more of a bad ass. K, I like it. haha.
I still haven't gotten Skyrim for my PC but I probably will now for sure.

Before you get anything else, download the official texture mod released by Bethesda. It makes the whole game look much better than the console counterparts.

If your PC can handle it, you should download an ENB mod as well.

My PC can handle pretty much anything I through at it. I now run a GTX980.
I'll definitely check both of those out as well.
