The new minecraft EULA states that servers can't give ranks and items in game for real money, and servers can't give players an advantage over others for real money. This means that most servers won't be able to survive now, because they're not getting donations, but it also means that if you can't afford VIP, you won't be at a disadvantage to anyone else.

What are your thoughts on this?

Yeah, I'm not sure how long I'm going to be able to keep my server online without accepting donations

I honestly like the new EULA, it removes much of the crappy donation servers that its basically pay to win. It separates the good from the bad.

Yeah, well. The crappy servers are not going to survive since they can not support their server fee's, but they can always just put ads on their own websites and ask the players to vote on them. They get paid for the people who click on their ads on their websites.

Well, I'm a server owner, and I also help people set up websites as a job, so I know that there's no way website ads from a minecraft server could ever support the server. I did see a plugin once that puts ads in the minecraft chat, but most servers wouldn't want to do that

The new EULA is really good. Sure servers may not be getting donations, but then it would also mean that servers will no longer be pay to win! Most servers were doing this and making tons of money off of it! Good EULA added in my opinion.

Well, I feel like all the pay to win servers usually die out first anyway. The good servers, where donating adds something but not too much tend to also be the more popular servers, because they people that do play are the people that really care about the community.

Also, if servers aren't getting donations, a lot of the better smaller servers (like mine) won't be able to survive at all.

I don't really understand it. People are technically donating to the server, but they get items in the game as a bonus/prize.
