New Game Mode Suggestions / Ideas

    Starting this thread to collect ideas for developers / mod-makers. Anything goes - game mechanics, locations, weapons, skins, items, storylines / quests, etc.

    I'll start...

    Surface Exploration / "Stalker" Mode - be able to explore Moscow, go into buildings, find items, etc. On an infinite scale. Instead of pre-rendered buildings, make some "randomizable" building models, populate the area with a pool of mutants, and let the "risk-takers" have some fun betting that their skills will gain them more valuable items than the ammo & filters they'll have to spend.

    Basically, take a look at how Left 4 Dead dynamically populates the stages, and make something like that. I.e. in a given square mile, you can expect to find X nosalises, Y demons, Z spiderbugs, A filters, B ammo, and C misc items. But since it would be randomized, there would be no way for players to predict patterns, so there would be technically infinite replay value.

    Add co-op multiplayer to this, and you have a winner.

    A4 engine + Left4Dead dynamic enemy AI + Unreal Tournament game modes (CTF, Vehicle CTF, Deathmatch, etc) = insta-winner and a long-term classic with ridiculously high replay value.

    Capture The Flag between Nazis and Communists, in the ruins of Moscow, with mutants providing "excitement"... I'll glagly pay for that!
