Right now I have a EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti in my computer and I know that it is pretty old since now in stores they only sell the 600 series and up.

My card can handle the heavy games like Dead Space 3, Skyrim, Max Payne 3, and Borderlands 2. But after a while it gets pretty hot, I think I'm putting a ton of stress on the card and I'd hate for it to go out on me. Is there a better graphics card that you guys would recommend that isn't too pricey. Maybe the GeForce GT 650? Not sure

I've never been good when it comes to getting graphic cards for my PC. How old is the GTX 560 Ti? Have you tried putting the graphics down a bit to make it easier on the card? I've had to do that many times and it may not look all too hot, it'll probably keep the stress low for the graphic card. You could of course do this until you get a new card.

What is your budget for a card anyways? $100, $200, $300 or more? I have this graphics card right now and it works wonders for me. I still put the graphics down a bit, because I'm paranoid my PC will die on me one of these days. It is the Radeon HD 7790. I got it some time ago and it isn't half bad. It's retailing for around $130-$145, so it isn't a massive price to deal with.

You should get the 760. That's pretty new as far as I know, affordable for a cheap gaming rig and can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it with 2GB of memory. I'd go for that, you won't regret it.

The 560 ti is a pretty old graphics card, and with only 1GB memory it really isn't the best. The game would still be playable, but for it to run at a decent frame rate the settings would need to be down low.

Yeah, it would be best to upgrade your graphics card, go for GeForce GTX 760 or GTX 780 if you can afford it. If you can't get it right away you should consider cooling your computer since you noticed it heats up, maybe face a fan towards your computer. If that doesn't work, you might have to lower your graphics as well.

The 560 Ti honestly isn't that bad! If it's getting super hot then put an after market cooler on it. Don't feel like you have to upgrade because it's hot, only upgrade when you can see performance dropping or because you can't play games on the graphics level you want.

I agree with MorgUK. There is no reason to upgrade over simple overheating.. That is just the nature of GPUs.
