    Hi all,

    We're officially announcing a new release date in 12 minutes. You deserve an early update, I think.

    The new release date is: May 14 in North America, and May 17 in the rest of the world.


    What does this mean for the game?

    4A Games now has a bit more time to polish the game to the best level possible. Metro: Last Light was more or less complete, but the extra time can be used for bugfixing and a final layer of polish that they otherwise wouldn't have had time for with a March release.

    For Deep Silver this means we will have a bit more time to work on trailers, screenshots, contests, and all other things to make the Metro series more visible to the gaming public and give it the chance it deserves.


    What does this mean for you, the fans?

    First of all, you'll get a more polished single-player experience.

    We'll have some more time to do Q&As as well, so I'll start a Q&A thread to ask for questions if you are ok with that :).

    We're still working on details for pre-orders. This is a very complex situation and it is looking unlikely that we can change the old pre-order options that were already available at retail. I'm looking at what we can do to put more things into it as a bonus, though.


    Facebook

    If any of you are fans of the Metro Facebook page: Facebook has a system with local pages that we are still trying to get access to. We're working with them to have this fixed and updated correctly asap, but this will likely take a week or more due to dumb reasons I cannot share.

    In the meantime, you can change the Facebook setting to the Global Page by clicking the little gear icon next to "Liked" -> Switch Region -> Global Page. We'll be putting all the updates on there until we have sorted out local pages for content in other languages.

    This is great! I feel that not only did Metro and Deep Silver need this delay, but I personally needed it myself. I'm not lusty nor hungry for details and info, neither am I actually ready for the game at all. I've been waiting for so long, and when I today realized that it's the original release date, I was mindblown. I need more time, and this is perfect. I'll have to complete Metro2033 at least one more time before the release date.

    What's funny is that it'll be released May 17th, which is Norway's National-day. And since I don't celebrate national-day, I just stay at home and chill out instead of going in rows and waving flags. So that day will be a day off for me. 100% perfect! :D

    And please, Maurice, go ahead and make a thread or two regarding Q&A, and don't be afraid to make restrictions in the thread(s) :)

    That's great news, happy that it isn't coming out at the end of the year. It will be great to have it over the summer, when not many games are released. There is also nothing wrong with a little extra polish as well.

    Mh i don't like that you cannot erase this joke of a pre-order edition/whatever it is called from the face of Earth.

    I think that the stores wouldn't accept that the pre-order bonus is total different from what has been promised, but that it is not a problem to give an extra bonus for pre-orders.

    May is fine, I can wait for two more months.

    Just because most Americans have no tastes in games doesn't mean you should slight us. *Sarcasm. :D In all honesty I don't get why there isn't a global release because most people I know have never heard of metro so Europe should get it at the same time/first.
