I doubt there will be another one.

  3. Yeah, what he said.

With the way 4A Games's leader Prof went nuts on the Ukrainian Conflict lately, there won't be another game about Moscow for a long while.

All things must end, sooner or later.

There was that other game, set in Russia, called Nuclear Union, which look rather cool; but, it was canceled about a year ago. Though, the developers of the game have now branched off in creating a similar game -at least, according to an interview they had, shortly after announcing the withdrawal of Nuclear Union- but no further news has been mentioned since.

  8. There will be more games from 4A, just not necessarily more Metro series.

As much as I love the Metro 2033 universe, I'm not sad that there won't be another game (at least from what has bee said, so far). The games are absolutely brilliant; and, as much trust that I've enveloped in 4A to make another great Metro 2033 game, there's a point where the series must come to a stop. Not that I wouldn't want another one, but, again, I wouldn't be disapointed if there wasn't. Really, I was happy with just Metro 2033 alone. Also, I think continuing Artem's story will be stretching it. What else is there for him to do? Artem is the savior of the metro. I wouldn't doubt if he becomes the king.

there is just so much to do and explore, from surface, factions, locations, the metro itself, of course there is a point to come to an end, but it is not this, crappy series get dozens of games and good quality series like this get only two?

Yes, that is a disappointing aspect in the game industry. What are they on now, the twelfth Call of Duty :p? Being able to explore the remaining of the metro tunnels would be very exciting and switching over to another antagonist could become very interesting . I myself would like to see something that brings homage to the original feel of the first game. I was really amazed at how the game felt when you would be wandering the tunnels and come to a shanty station. I just felt so...so awesome, yet bleak. Then you would head out and fight your way to another station in hopes that it would be just as great as the previous one. But, oh no! You get to the next station and it has been overrun by lurkers. To me, little things light that really set the mood for the universe in which the game was set in.

I don't know. Like you said, there are many great ideas out there to make another Metro 2033 game. I'd be great if 4A would release an SDK for the games, though; then maybe we would be able to make a community based project, of our own.

  13. Call of duty sells. It offers cheap entertainment that everyone can get into. Metro is a series for people that have more than two brain cells and there aren't many of these around.

i've read her, somewhere that 4A knows about this forum's existence and sent a message, what if we send them a message/petition to make a new metro game? at least they'll know that there are many people who want it, and if they were not sure, now they would know that they have our support at least

Well there was that petition to make a Metro multiplayer game and I'm pretty sure that bombed, so this might not be the best idea.

I just want to say that Call of Duty and Metro are not worlds apart.

Why, thank you for the compliment. :D

True. They are both FPS games :p.
I have not actually played passed the second Call of Duty, so I really have no idea how it stands up to Metro 2033. The only knowledge I have about the modern CODs is that "only punk little kids play COD" while the ones who "know what real gaming is" play Battlefield.

They're both mostly linear, first-person shooters with fancy scripted set-pieces... I'm not saying Metro is just like CoD and I agree it's a much more interesting series, but there are plenty of similarities. In terms of design, Metro seems to me like something between Call of Duty and Half-Life. Of course, I really like Metro, otherwise I wouldn't be here. :p

Next Video game they will have to pick a different character then Artyom. This is a No-No as Artyoms character is the leading story element in the series, Do you know how much it would destroy the Universe and mystic-effect if there was another random Dweller of the Metro that could communicate with the Dark-Ones?

There only real option I can see is moving into a MMO...And well, Looking at the Elder Scrolls Online-...Yeah...

Comrade Commissar is hopful for new release and trust developers will serve the glorious Red-Masses proudly with there next piece of Entertainment.
(Though, if they make Comrade Secretary Moskvin be scared at the sight of small child once again, They will be promptly be reevaluated in there current standing in the Red Line)

    Ah, okay. :)

The Metro universe has been expanded beyond Artem's story through fan-made books and have grown quite popular. You can even see some of the covers to these books on the wall of Artem's bedroom in the first game. I don't know how many of them have been written and I myself have not read a single one, but I've heard that they are quite good -mainly from Bamul (who, in fact, has made his own story set in the Metro universe).
