Great, a magazine that rewards an intelligent game

 

Sounds awesome, shame those fools revealed the ending of the last game though.
It's nice to hear about how good the combat and AI is now.

This will sound a bit prejudiced, but I've gotta say I'm not surprised that the folks from the PS magazine appreciated the game more than the Xbox magazine guys.

I just tend to think of PS3 gamers as console gamers who are interested in a more diverse range of games due to the unique exclusives it has. On the other hand, the 360 - although not without a few original exclusives of its own - seems much more like a system for modern shooter fans, especially considering that its two best selling franchises (Gears of War and Halo) always seemed pretty shallow to me. That and its emphasis on online features, so I just always figured that the average 360 gamer is more interested in modern cliché shooters rather than other types of games. Since there is no statistics to back up statements like that, I would call it an assumption or sometimes even prejudice.

I don't really know what you mean by shallow but all of the Halo games have a great story and there's a huge backstory to the whole thing, kind of like Lord Of The Rings, it's a whole new world with a lot of history, imaginitive places and great characters, etc.
The gameplay for most of the games is great (other than ODST and Halo wars because the gameplay was terrible for those) and I don't think i've ever played any shooters similar to the Halo games.

 

Thanks, Captain Obvious. That's the exact reason why I labelled what I mentioned as prejudice.

I fail to see how owning a certain console changes you into a member of a different ethnicity. Perhaps it's a joke, but then I have to say that I also don't find it humorous.

That's why I said they have always "seemed" to be shallow in my eyes. I've completed Halo 1 and 2 on the PC (both good games - first one is actually great - but they're both quite overrated and not on the Xbox 360). I also played ODST, Wars, Halo 4, Gears of War 1, 2 and 3 when over at some of my friends' places, but I haven't completed any of those so my opinion is based entirely on a number of short experiences.
