Offline or Online?

Final Fantasy has always been a great one player experience before the PS 2. But when the PS 2 came along, that's the time when Square began experimenting with MMORPGs starting with FFXI. Now they have FFXIV which is another MMORPG. Which do you prefer - offline or online Final Fantasy games?

Offline FF games for me. Final Fantasy has always been about story line for me.
With MMORPGs, the story lines are lost because people tend to focus more on leveling.

You have Novels with text, Graphic novels with Pictures, then you have Final Fantasy. A Final Fantasy story is not meant to be read, but experienced. :)

I never really got into the Final Fantasy MMORPGS. I will always prefer the offline FF games, especially 7-10. Maybe I need to give the online versions more of a shot, but I just can't ever see myself getting more into them.

I never played any of the online FF games and I don't plan to start anytime soon I refuse to pay the monthly fee.

Yes, one thing that really irks me about the online FF games is that you need to pay a subscription fee in order to play! Why??? To pay for servers? Or just for profit? Regardless of the reason, I don't want to spend more cash for the online free than the price of the game itself.
