Has anyone ever sat down and thought about why we keep seeing zombies in games lately? I love zombies, their cool flesh eating shufflers of the living dead that want to eat my brain. However, enough is enough! In my opinion, I find more zombies in a war or survival game is nothing but a copout showing a lack of imagination to create new enemies. Different opinions? What kind of enemies would you make? Let's talk about it.

Zombies are popular right now, probably due in part to The Walking Dead series. It's just where interests are right now.

I wouldn't mind seeing some post apocalyptic settings where you're warring with other tribes for survival gear. Or, perhaps a Jurassic Park type theme, where you teleport back in time and .. somehow, you have weapons and gear. :\
Oooh! What about something like Dante's Inferno or something where you have to traverse through Hell?

Call of Duty Zombies has been a mainstay in the franchise long before it was a part of other non-zombie franchises. Advanced Warfare continues the CoD zombies survival mode with co-op, and there's nothing wrong with that. The game throws in incredible and complicated easter eggs along with challenging enemies and grand level designs.

I, for one, have really appreciated the return of zombies in this CoD title, but I think that Treyarch still does them better. Zombies are here to stay for the following years, whether you like it or not. It's just today's fad, just as creepy science fiction was 80's fad. Most likely, the world will come to find another kind of abomination fashionable, and you will miss good old zombies.

I think it could be due to having survivors who are half dead and just in last stages of life and have a virus and need to kill whoever comes so they are put into the games. I would have put Ogres or giants and made it a challenge and make them fast so they can rush at you and have to doge them while trying to live in the duel. Another enemy would be a Minotaur a bull with hind legs and very strong can use hammer or blade to harm you would be good yo see.

Well, I think the zombies in Advanced Warfare is terrible. However, the ones in Black Ops 1 and World at War are amazing, so I can see why they tried it in Advanced Warfare. However, they failed miserably lol.

Zombies are just the latest trend in gaming. Ever since L4D we have seen so many zombie shooters from DayZ to H1z1, that it's almost become unacceptable for a FPS game to not have zombies. Ghosts was blasted for this.

I think its a natural idea for a wave based game like COD Zombies. What other humanoid foe comes in unending waves? Having standard humans come at you wave after wave would be kind of dull after playing against the same online and in multiplayer. They could do something fun with it. Maybe vampires or aliens?

I really loved playing all the zombie maps in both Black Ops 1 and 2 so I don't mind if they continue with these theme. The aliens idea in Ghosts was really subpar compared to the exciting survival things you can do in the zombies game mode.
