I found a quote in an interview that might show that Titan and Overwatch could be one in the same.

"""Players would be able to select from classes with names like Reaper, Jumper, Titan, Ranger, and Juggernaut, each of which had its own special combat abilities and items, according to a source. Jumpers, for example, would be agile scouts with a teleport ability and the ability to quickly leap in and out of combat. Titans were tanks, while Rangers were snipers with cloaking and other abilities (think Nova from StarCraft II and the ill-fated StarCraft Ghost)."""
So the recent interview from Blizzard talking about how they scrapped Titan was just a load of BS because some of these leaks were actually true.

This game was Blizzards "Titan". They recently had come forward claiming they completly scrapped the project. Leakers have described the game as you see it as Overwatch. They probably did the disinformation interview to try and curb further leaks, or discussions about the leaks.

Are you saying they lied to investors and their fans because people leaked information that wasn't even accurate compared to the trailer?

And you don't think THAT would've leaked?

I wouldn't say the "proof" is 100% accurate, since at the Overwatch panel they mentioned the Overwatch faction in game was created to fight off robots, but it seems to me this is where the majority of Titan's assets went to. I bet they shifted assets a while back knowing that the Titan original idea wasn't going to work (the ideas presented in your link), but potentially scaled back to a shooter.

    From the linked article

One person connected to Blizzard told me that "a good handful" of the Titan team is actually still intact, despite yesterday's news that the game has been cancelled.

"They changed the code-name after that reboot," said that person. "So the project that was 'Titan' did die last year."

So yeah, not project Titan exactly, but a shifting of the assets and reboot.

It would be funny if true. It just doesn't make sense though. Titan was hyped up, then scrapped. Why would Blizzard want to kill that hype? The only thing i can think of, is because it might've failed, so they renamed it to something else. It sill wouldn't make sense though. It's also not uncommon for developers to borrow or use resources from dead projects and put them into another project.

this is false. Overwatch is completely different than what Titan was going to be. Titan was cancelled for another reason... mainly Bungie

Back in the beginning, Activision wanted to make a first person shooter persistent world. So they created a team and the codename Titan was started. A couple years later, Microsoft had a falling out with Bungie and they parted ways. Activision then swooped in and made a deal with Bungie to produce Destiny... the problem was that Titan and Destiny were nearly the same game... so because Bungie had so much experience making that type of game and the Titan team didn“t, they closed down Titan.

Overwatch is a completely different type of game, and the members of Titan mostly moved to WOW, not to Overwatch.

Yep, Overwatch is pretty much Titan. They released a false report saying they scrapped it, but leaked mechanics suggest that Overwatch is EXACTLY Titan.

Overwatch is a new game but built with Titans engine and Assets, they didn't want to scrap all their work (understandably) but they couldn't complete Titan so the bets thing to do was recycle those assets and make a game that will be successful.

Titan was never going to work apparently, it was far too ambitious and would be hard to top WoW as Blizzard has such an expected quality and good brand image which they built up.

Titan was alot closer to Destiny in terms of gameplay. Overwatch is brand new and kicking. Surprised not much else has been said about this game in a bit or maybe I'm just paying attention to the wrong channels.

Why all the conspiracy theories? They are completely different games whether or not they share any code or architecture is irrelevant. Overwatch is going a completely different direction.
