    I have said this for Metro 2033 but seriously pre coded options pre graphical setting....

    I personally like to turn shadows down to normal and motion blur off lol

    This link will show you what I mean...

    geforce.com/whats-new/articles/metro-last-light-graphics-breakdown-and-performance-guide#last-light-quality

    Ok so heres a list of the settings if you are to lazy to read...

    Ambient Occlusion - Very High = Precomputed + SSAO
    High = Precompiled + SSAO
    Medium = Approximate
    Low = Approximate

    Analytical AA - Very High - Low = Enabled (I'd like FORCED AA OFF THANKS, and use FXAA instead)

    Bump Mapping - Very High and High = Precise
    Medium and Low = Coarse

    Detial Texturing - Very High - Low = Enabled

    Geometric Detail - All respective to which quality setting you pick

    Image Post-Processing - Very High and High = Full (NO THANKS)
    Medium and Low = Normal

    Light-Material Interaction - Very High = Full
    High - Low = Normal

    Motion Blur - Very High = Camera + Objects (KILL THIS SETTING WITH FIRE)
    High = Camera
    Medium = Disabled
    Low = Disabled

    Parrallax Mapping - Very High = Enabled + POM (Say what now)
    High = Enabled
    Medium and Low = Disabled

    Shadow Filtering - Very High and High = Hi-Quality
    Medium = Normal
    Low = Fast (no idea lol)

    Shadow Resolution - Very High = 9.43 Mpx (o_O what why cant we change this)
    High = 6.55Mpx
    Medium = 4.19Mpx
    Low = 2.35mpx

    Skin Shading - Very High = Subsurface Scattering (Looks like blur to me)
    High = Simple
    Medium and Low = Disabled

    Soft Particles - Very High and High = Enabled
    Medium and Low = Disabled

    Volumetric Texturing - Very High = Full Quality + Sun Shafts (umm why isnt sun shafts its own setting)
    High = Low Precision
    Medium and Low = Disabled

    List of how the Graphics Menu should look:

    Resolution = Select Res
    Preset Quality = Low, Normal, High, Very High and Custom
    Analytical AA = On or Off
    AAA Option = 2-4x MSAA, 8-16x CSAA, 2-4x SMAA and SSAA (Auto, Off, 0.5x, 2x, 3x, 4x)
    Texture Filtering (AF 1 - 16x)
    Ambient Occlusion = On or Off
    Shadow Filtering = Hi-Quality, Normal and Fast
    Shadow Resolution = 9.43Mpx, 6.55Mpx, 4.19Mpx, 2.35Mpx or Custom between 9.50-1
    Skin Shading = Subsurface Scattering, Simple and Disabled
    Soft Particles = On or Off
    Detail Texturing = On or Off
    Geometric Detail = Very High, High, Normal and Low
    Image Post Processing (Or Post Processing) = On or Off
    Volumetric Texturing = Full Quality, Normal Quality, Low or Disabled
    Sun Shafts = On or Off
    Light Material Interaction = Full, Normal or low
    Parallax Mapping = Enabled + POM, Enabled or Disabled
    Motion Blur (Off, Low and Normal)
    Tesselation (Off, Normal, High, Very High)
    FOV = Slider or 45-90 or to 120 (any higher and your insane, unless using multi monitor)
    VSYNC (On, Off)

    Now I am not sure about any of you but does that look a lot more easier to customize how you want to play the game and also this would give you a better chance of optimizing the game for yourself.

    If you don't mind shadows being a little less detailed turn down the res and filter.....

    Let me know what you think about this

    If you like it comment, hopefully 4A will see it ;)

    I don't know why this is not getting more replies but I absolutely love this idea and I wish 4a implemented this into the menu. is there any downside to doing this? I see only benefits.

    more customization is a good idea, but the flip side is that there will be those who have no clue what these things do or they need to be explained properly. Having pre-determined and pre-set options eliminates that but then leaves those who like to tinker (which is the majority of PC gamers) out in the dark surrounded by nosalisis

    If you did more reading at the top you would see that i listed both presets and custom so clearly most of these settings would be under custom and just things like shadows and Analytical AA could be under the preset the rest would be more advanced yes. just like with Other games that have presets some include a few options under the presets or include the whole lot so either way if they can afford to play the game on pc i am sure they will do more research to find out as what i did for this games presets.....

    Its not hard, and yes you could argue that still some people wont bother and they will just try max it out and still complain... well normally what happens in that case is they complain on the forums and other gamers such as yourself or I will answer why they cant run it.....

    Is that a good enough explanation lol

    Yes, we seriously need this. I don't see any reason why the set it up this way. Why am I forced to have my framerate burdened with things like motion blur if I don't even want them?

    I really don't think budget has anything to do with it. As we can see in the Nvdia article, there are 14 different settings there, each with 4 levels. All we need is a separate menu where we can set each one to low, medium, high, or very high instead of being forced to just use one setting that changes them all. It used to be something that was a basic expectation for all PC games. I would even be satisfied with an .ini file we could edit ourselves. It's really weird that they would neglect to do something so simple, especially after everyone agreed that it was a bad idea to control graphics settings this way when they did it in Metro 2033. I hope it's something they will address post launch.

    Pff :(

    Who needs a patch now. I already played, enjoyed and finished the game. They should include everything from the beginning before release. After all it's a single-player game and the first playthrough is the one you will enjoy the most. Now with all these patches that will come out, you'll wish that you never played the game before the patches.

    Has anyone been able to make any progress figuring out how to change some of this stuff in some of the configuration files? It looks like that would be the only way we would be able to control these things, since there seems to be no interest from the developers in addressing this problem. It's really disappointing, because I'm pretty sure I could be getting a much better framerate by getting rid of things like motion blur and the very excessive shadow resolution, but the only way to lower those settings is to also get rid of some really cool features like the light-material interaction, volumetric texturing, subsurface scattering, etc. I know for example in Metro 2033 the very high depth of field effect alone completely destroyed my framerate, and once I figured out how to disable it in the config files the game ran perfectly with everything else on very high with 4X MSAA. It's just extremely frustrating to know that I could be playing a much better looking and performing game simply by changing a couple of variables, but for some reason I'm not allowed to.

    id honestly love.. for a way to load different quicksaves, not the automated one.. getting annoyed that by exploring, you can screw your game.. (I got past the bandits sections trying to find the secret stash near the pile of corpses in the end of the railway..)
    I ended getting stranded near the bell zone unable to return and rescue the woman and her child.

    same when you're trying to do an achievement and the game suddenly autosaves.. screwing your attempt.
