    This is the discussion thread for the Playstation 4 Announcement.

    Here's a Wall Street Journal Article from earlier today.

    Here's the latest from Engadget:

    What does this system need to have for you to put down your hard-earned cash for it?

    I had hopes really, but...
    I didn't like the presentation, and they didn't tell nothing really surprising.
    They didn't reveal the price, the console...

    The best...the controller and Watch Dogs.
    The worst...the new Killzone and Diablo III. What's that? It's a joke?
    In my opinion.

    I'm expecting for the next Xbox :)

    Lame presentation. Watch Dogs was ace though. The controller is rather neat looking, I think.

    Also based on the leaked specs the gpu is dated. unlike the ps3 and 360 where for a while they were ahead of the pc. This Is bad news.

    See this is why PC is the master race. Instead of going out to buy a new $600 console I could just buy a new $200 graphics card and bam my PC is god as new working side by side my original.

    Not impressed at all. Man I was hoping I could stick with the Playstations after all these years, but I might have to go with Xbox now :eek:hwell:

    Not impressed at all. But then again what do we expect? It's a console after all and consoles were never even close to even mid range pc.

    So far it seems like only the wii u and pc should exist in this world.. Also the only thing about this ps4 that impresses me is 8gb of gddr5. (probs for 4k) But the gpu isn't going to be powerful enough for 4k despite all that ram. Games won't look much more pretty except for the 4k. Sony dug it's own grave.

    Why are you and so many others saying this was horrible, bad, and that sony "Dug its own grave". THE THING HASN'T EVEN COME OUT YET SO STOP FUCKING SAYING THAT IT SUCKS SINCE YOU DON'T OWN ONE. thanks and have a nice day :D

    Wow thats like saying news of metro being mp team deathmatch only and it not being bad. the hardware of the ps4 is dated and the lack of 4k is really not looking good. ;)

    I always wondered. Lets say Metro LL for the PS3 or upcomming PS4 can that can play PS3 generation games, is the number one game that supports the latest graphics etc. What I want to know is, which graphics card and at what settings would you need to have you computer at so that it could be equally matched with that of the PS3 or PS4? How about an Xbox 360?; and I know many of you go "why would you want to do that?" Well, like this PC gamers and console players can finally find out how many times better the PC is than the console.

    THe ps4 is less powerful (excluding the 8 gb of ram that it has) then my $500 pc. Which was $650 with a monitor and speakers. The ps4 will prbally be that price and not have a speaker or monitor. Plus you know on the pc you also get a everyday pc to use.

    6870. the ps4 uses a modded 6850 with 8 gb of gddr 5. Though I doubt that will fully be used with the lack of 4k support.
