Preorder bonuses made me not to buy this game

A lot of us were pissed at THQ for doing this too, but you shouldnt blame Deep Silver because they tried to nullify the preorder bonuses, and now youre just missing out on a fantastic game.

 

yeah, ds tried their best but the game was mostly completed by that time so they couldn't change it.

 

yes you get an exclusive rifle. Don't use it if you dont want it adn fire away all the MGRs in the air?

As already said, we were all pissed at THQ for doing this. Deep Silver did all they could to prevent that pre-order when they took over, but they just couldn't do it, so they are not to blame. (I'm not saying that you blame them).

If the rifle and extra ammo is so much of a problem for you, shoot out all the bullets in the beginning and drop the rifle or just don't use it until you can swap it for another weapon.

The Ranger Hardcore mode will come to the game as a DLC later on, so there's no need to worry about that.

 

The weapon is not necessarily OP; it's another item for your arsenal if you choose to use weapons against humans at all.

If it helps, you have a pretty good chance to find a Limited Edition at retail (which includes Ranger Mode) for any platform in the week or so after release, depending on where you live. Once these have all sold out, it will be the standard edition in stores.

Pre-order just makes sure you get one of those Limited Editions on day 1. And a digital comic book we added to it (can depend on retailer in various countries).

 

As others have said, you can just waste your bullets and swap out the AKS-74 asap, but to me it makes a lot of sense lore wise as Artyom is a Ranger now and thus would be well equipped from the get-go. Don't let a freebie that you might buy down the road stop you from enjoying the game at release...

 

All 5.45x39 weapons deal the same amount of damage anyway.

 

Personally I think DS should be called BS for segregating Ranger Mode from the game and continuing to make it a LE pre-order incentive.

No matter how much development time you think went into a difficulty setting it's disgraceful tactics by alluding people to believe otherwise. Do you see Bioshock Infinite charging extra for 1999 mode? NO!

If this comes back and bites you in the ass DS you only have yourself to blame when the game becomes one of those among many which people decide to pick up in a £5 Steam sale.

But we are where we are, nothing can be changed expect from those people who will vote with their wallet. I wanted the game anyway but this Ranger HC still erks me.

Nagi, I guess you might just have to find something else to do while we play this hopefully great game.

 

There you go. Artyom starts out as a full ranger so really he should have more than just 100 MGR and a lot of dirty ammo but what ever.

 

You could just wait for the price to drop something I'm still considering I mean you can still find Darksiders II and Rage limited editions in stores to this day.

 

I always wait for price drops, and usually when there’s a limited edition, you can find them on Ebay shortly after their release semi-cheap, why? I don't know, but I think it’s because they were gifts and people don't really want the game so they decide to sell it.

 

Except we never segregated it. That would mean it was in there, we got the game, and then we chose to cut it out. Which is simply not true. If Infinite had had 1999 mode as a pre-order bonus last year, 2K went bankrupt in January, and we had picked up Infinite to release within months, it probably would've remained as it was as well.

Trying to make the best of the situation by adding new things on top of it with the comic book and the digital Metro 2033 novel (where we could), though? Absolutely disgraceful :derp:

 

Pew is right. It's THQ's fault for the whole thing. Manju it's really hard to take something out of a pre-order. People will complain and for all we know law suits could start to pop up and it would trash DS's rep more than leaving it in. It was a better tactic to add the comic and the book for free with the pre-order. And they're trying to make sure that there will be a LE in stores for about a week. That means they're pretty much giving it away free.

 

I am not going to be able to get the game right as it comes out, so this really blows.

 

The gun is not op, and it comes with ranger mode either way. Just shoot the bullets into a wall

 

But who the hell charges extra for a game mode?, seriously that's unethical.
