Problem switching ammo types RHC

    I'm doing a largely gunless RHC playthough (first playthrough as well) and so far I've basically never used my guns, so I've got several hundred of the Military Grade Ammo (from selling everything possible everytime I reach a shop). I figure at this rate I'm gonna try to just make it through the game using only MGA in my guns (maybe it won't turn out to be possible, I'll try though :D)

    Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to equip the stuff. I saw some threads elsewhere from a google search telling people to hold R to switch between ammo types, but that didn't seem to work for me. As a test I sold 100% of my normal (dirty as you guys seem to call it) ammo and tried firing, nothing so I held R to switch it over to MGA- nothing.

    My apologies if this has been covered previously.

    If you're playing on the 360 it's hold Y and RB.

    Sorry, to clarify this is for PC.

    Nonetheless if its a combo on the xbox maybe it's a combo on a PC, I'll try stuff and see how it goes.

    hold whichever key you use for 'reload'. 'R' in my set up (pc)

    remember not all guns can handle military bullets. (only the "assault" ones)

    Yeah, reload is R for me as well. Doesn't appear to be swapping ammo though ;(

    I'm using the AKS-74u, so it should count, from my understanding.


    On the other hand, I've started having other problems as well like enemies that are "frozen", unable to move and do not fall over when killed. So perhaps I have other issues that are causing this...

    time to install repair it from steam? (or uninstall and reinstall if you have retail?)

    agree with tamalero, seems you have other problems going on. The not being able to use MGR is just a symptom. try repair/ or reinstall. You'll have to start a game also, or your old save might carry the problem with you into the reinstall.
