PvP or PvM?

    What do you like more? Do you prefer fighting against monsters (mobs), or against players? I personally prefer fighting against players, specially on SkyPvP servers, as it's my favorite thing to do in Minecraft: PvP.

    I definitely prefer PvE as in Player VS Environment. There is something about simple survival, or more than that the ability to thrive in a new world. I definitely enjoy some occasional PvP as well as just making a thriving city with my friends.

    I don't care for PvP too much. Maybe once in awhile with friends for a little joking fun, but nothing I take too seriously at all. I would much rather co-op with other players against the world. I find that much more fun and exciting.

    It all depends, I like pvping with friends but if im by myself its pvm all the way.

    It depends on what the server is about. I enjoy both, though for regular playing, I rather play PvE. I would only do PvP if it was a time limit event for that sole purpose.

    Since in Minecraft I don't care too much about arena battles. I tend to care more about scientific evolution and I'm pacifist (until I can nuke everybody) But in general I'm PvE (versus environment)

    The Minecraft community server i was playing on originally was getting stale so they decided to make it a PvP server as we were just a friendly, create and play server. PvP is a lot more fun in my opinion than PvM due to the predictability of AI mobs. Fighting against players adds the element of tactical strategy to the game.

    PvE I can't really stand minecraft PVP combat. It's kind of dumb. Though I don't really like survival myself. I like going on creative mode and making cool shit.

    I don't really care for PvP in Minecraft or any game really for that matter. I don't really have a whole lot of time to devote to playing games as I used to, and usually in PvP there are players who exploit every aspect of the game to get a leg up. It's really not fun to just get completely crushed by somebody who has more time to learn every intricacy of the game. There's nothing wrong with that, but I would just prefer to play against the AI.

    You make a very good point. The players that do nothing but that game all day seem to ruin quite a lot of the fun in most PvP games. I just use it as an excuse to get better, or maybe brush up on some better tactics, no matter the game.

    I've never been able to be fond of PvP except in specific cases like Hunger Games or Trouble in Mineville servers. I've found on standard minecraft PvP ends up with being killed fairly often by players with better gear and being unable to efficiently gather resources properly to catch up. In PvM multiplayer I can make friends and band together to work on projects.

    I don't do PvP much. I don't really enjoy killing other players for some reason. I prefer killing mobs for stuff and XP. I enjoy it more. I tried PvP once and It just didn't suit me. Now I always play PvM.

    Definitely MvP. No doubt PVP does have its own merits, but I've never really been a huge fan of it. At least not in minecraft. Killing mobs is just more fun. It always reminds me of tower defense games for some reason. Also, there are too many hackers in PVP which spoils the overall experience for me.

    MvP here as well. I just don't like the idea of other people being against me as people can be really, really sneaky. In MvP you know what's against you and how to beat it, whereas in PvP that's totally not the case.

    I like PVE in Minecraft a lot more than PVP. PVP feels clunky and the game is most definitely not designed for that purpose, whereas overcoming the environment in which the game takes place is central to the entire point of the game.

    I like PvP a bit more. PvE in minecraft is pretty easy once you have even half-decent gear. PvP is always different, and there are some little things you can do that sets you above your opponents. It's much more of a challenge, and you have to keep focused on the fight.

    To me it's a PvE game. Even when I want to play it with friends it just turns into co-op PvE. To me it's just a kill mobs. Build cool stuff. Repeat a good few times. Build more, and that is the end of it. It's just the way it is.

    I'd say PvM because PVP is horribly unbalanced and not very fun for anyone involved. There are better competitive games out there and Minecraft always seemed like a coop game in my mind. It's cool it's an option, but it's not for me.

    I'm personally more of a fan of PvM. I'm not the most competitive person out there, and I play to have fun. Killing mobs is part of surviving, and I'm pretty cool with that. Like others have said, it can get super unbalanced when it comes to PvP. If I want to get ganked, I'll go play World of Warcraft.
