Many people now find themselves reminiscing about how they felt when they first played Minecraft. It's quite an experience, being trapped in a dirt hole just waiting for the night to pass so you can continue on to greater things. Unfortunately as time goes on most people find themselves wondering how they can re-experience that nostalgic, first-night feeling. The Minecraft community is so saturated with game changing mods, and is now very heavily PvP oriented. How do you get back to basics? How do you re-experience that feeling? It's not so easy as just deciding to play vanilla again, as you are so accustomed to hardcore PvP tactics that vanilla is just too easy. What would you suggest to help a friend in need?

I think to get back that feeling, one must leave the game entirely for a long time and do other things. Best example of this is if you left your home and went abroad for a few years, then came back and decided one day to play MC vanilla mode. It's just survival and if that's still too easy, then set it at hardmode.

However, even then, I think the true feeling of 'the first kiss' will never be the same again.

I think its nearly impossible. My nostalgic feeling was mainly discovering ores and craftable goods. I wont be able to forget any so I dont think i will ever experience it again.

I think its impossibly to get back to that feeling, but I think once the person takes some time off from the game, and when I say time off, I mean for a really really long time, and maybe just maybe they could get back the feeling.

I agree with this, but I think it's still never quite the same.

One thing I would suggest is rolling back to the version that was out when you first started playing. The new launcher makes it pretty simple, you just make a new profile and change the version it uses. There are some things that you might miss, and getting used to not having some things takes time, but I've found it does wonders to bring that nostalgic feeling back. If you still have your first world, you could try playing on it, too (or finding the seed and starting a fresh copy of it.)

I'm sorry to say that but I doubt that someone can feel the same feelings that all of us had when we started playing Minecraft. And it's the same for any other game, especially for MMO games. Trust me, I have played Minecraft for 4 years and I know for secure that you can't rescue that feeling.
