"Rebooting" Call of Duty

    Movie franchises reboot themselves all the time after becoming stale, as evidenced by Terminator and Spiderman, among dozens of other film series. Perhaps CoD needs a reboot with fresh ideas and a completely redesigned engine that actually seems different from its predecessors. I don't want a Modern Warfare 4, or an Advanced Warfare 2, or a Ghosts 2, or anything like that. I like AW a lot, but I want to see a completely new CoD game that throws all of the tropes of CoD out the window and creates something new.

    I'd love to see the frenetic and fast-paced gameplay remain, but everything else needs to change. What would you want from a CoD "reboot"?

    Honestly, I think Call of Duty reboots itself all the time. Ghosts was a reboot, because the story was new and the multiplayer was new. Advanced Warfare is a reboot because of the same reasons.

    However, I get what you're saying. You mean rebooting people's opinions on the franchise. This would be very hard to do, but in order to do this they would have to go back to a World War 2 setting, and they would also have to cut it down on the DLC and most importantly, stop treating customers like ass.

    I want to see something similar to how CoD was back in the day when CoD4 came out. It was such a simple game, yet so fun. There weren't exo suits or 15 different killstreaks like in all of these new CoDs. In CoD4, it was just UAV, Airstrike, Helicopter. The game felt smooth, it ran good, and there wasn't much BS. Like, I'd honestly prefer playing CoD4 over Ghosts, Advanced Warfare, or any CoD at all, really.
