Runes...

Runes can make or break your game. Think about it, if everyone else has runes and you don't then you have a big handicap on your hands especially when it comes to ranked games. By level 20 you should start thinking about getting runes and saving IP for them. Only get the higer quality runes though so you don't waste IP anymore.

 

Runes are mandatory to perform well in a game, otherwise you start with a disadvantage which is not going to end well. You should have a basic AD and AP page at the start, then worry about doing more later. Search Google for the best rune pages.

 

Huge, jungling sucks with no runes, also in 1v1s and the game in general I mean it is a ton of raw stats that you can't make up for, need to buy them asap to make it fair and even to play.

 

It depends on what kind of runes you opt-out for. Those flat runes are good if you think you can outburst the enemy early. The scaling ones are better to me because I usually play carry champions and I need that little extra power later, not earlier.

 

They are really important in high level of play. They can make a lot of difference. I recommend you to spend your IP on the main runes when you just started league of legends. You should buy the 450 IP champions, afterwards buy the general runes like armor, HP, AD, AP and make some genereal AP AD and tank rune page.

 

If you are a new player don't care too much about runes, just go for a basic page for 2-3 roles(assuming you are lvl 30). The higher you go up and the more competitive you become, the more important they are because you need to optimize every single aspect in order to have an edge.

 

At a higher level runes are really crucial, even with 10 pages I still struggle to have everything that I need since the meta is so versatile nowadays. For a start 2 standard AP/AD pages are perfect.

 

Runes matter! You will notice the difference in lane when you jungle or how much damage you take or give. Also when you get CDR runes on certain champs it will make a big difference. I would not really carry about runes until you get tier 3 runes.

 

Runes are definitely mandatory. And all these runes cost almost as much as a new champion. I advise saving up for them asap. Make sure to buy extra rune pages. Consider having an Ap page, an Ad page, and a Tank page to start with.

 

yeah they're definitely really important, specially if you're 30. In my opinion, riot should get rid of the runes, putting them on was a terrible idea tbh

 

In my opinion, runes are what decide the early game. Having them is always the better choice. The thing is, you can do good with skills and no runes vice versa, but if the odds are stacked against you, you will most likely be behind.

 

Runes are pretty massive in the early game unless you have all scaling. It's pretty easy to set up a basic AD/AP page with AD/armor/AP/MR/MPen runes that will last you until you have enough IP to create fancier ones. You'll see some Challenger smurfs running with minimal rune pages to save IP.

 

Runes are important if you think about it, especially in the early game where you want that extra bonus for getting an early advantage in your lane. Try focusing on getting runes rather than saving up for your favorite champion if you don't have any filled rune pages yet.

 

I haven't tried mixing my runes yet. Since I mostly play AP lately, I have Full AP runes on my rune page. Playing teemo or heimerdinger with full AP is a bit fun in the early part of the game since you really deal a lot of damage, But then mid part or late game, the runes won't help a lot. I have flat runes.
