Russia 2028 is a kickstarter-like game being produced right now.
It will reintroduce some elements of the beloved STALKER series and something of DayZ.
In short: it will be a free-roaming post-apocalyptic FPS/RPG.
There is actually very few info about it,since the first pre-alpha footage was released in may 2012.Some information are written in the video's description:

This is what we're fighting for - start of the fullscale Russia 2028 project development ASAP.
This video is an year-old presentation of pre-alpha version on CE2. Just atmosphere, setting and some action.
Right now we're working on CE3 - preparing some good stuff

Genre: realistic first person action RPG
Engine: cryengine3
Platforms: PC, XBOX360, PS3
Game modes: singleplayer, multiplayer, combat simulator
Approximate time of a singleplayer game completion: 80+ hours
Release date: when it's done

Am i the only one that sees STALKER being born again from its ashes? Will Russia 2028 be STALKER's fenix? I don't know, but from this few minutes of footage i actually get that STALKER feeling.I will give my full support to the project and hope that you all do the same! :)

---------------Nuclear Union

Genre: RPG
Developer: Best Way
Publisher: 1C Company
Platform: PC
Release Date: 2013
«…And now about the weather in Pobedograd. It is mainly sunny today, with winds coming out of the north-east at 10–20 mph. Daytime temperatures are expected to be about 70-74°F with 46–50°F at night. There’s a slight possibility of pseudo-snowfall if the wind changed direction. The Radiation level at the Garden Ring is 18-51 roentgens per hour. The thermal anomaly activity is within the normal range…»

The USSR vs. USA faceoff known as the Cuban Missile Crisis was resolved by force in 1962 as the entire planet became involved in a nuclear war. With half of the Earth’s population dead, almost the entire planet surface became unfit for living due to radioactive contamination. However the Soviet Union was ready for such an outcome. The military machine had mobilized and was operating at full throttle sometime prior to the world catastrophe. The country underwent a full evacuation of the citizens, industrial facilities and companies of the utmost importance to a pre-built network of specially equipped bunkers.

50 years later. 2012… The fragments of the socialist empire that were hastily brought underground have gradually become a real state with its own capital, a city called Pobedograd. The key goals of the Nuclear Union used to be, and still are, the survival of the population and the restoration of an industrial base against the background of the aggressive environment.

The powerful Soviet empire even survived the end of days. Survived and continued to develop in an absolutely new and vulnerable world. This unusual story of unusual people starts here, underground, in Pobedograd.

The protagonist of Nuclear Union is a Soviet officer pilot who participated in the nuclear bombing of the USA. This past of his is nothing compared to what he is about to live through in this new dangerous world, bathed in the rays of merciless radiation.

It is common knowledge that anyone who’s about to face danger should always be holding a weapon in their hands. Experts of firearms will love the range of weaponry to fight enemies included in Nuclear Union. The arsenal of those who survived the nuclear apocalypse, and the decimation of the military complex, led to the best Soviet fire arms that never went into mass production being preserved in the Nuclear Union as operational prototypes. For instance, a three-barreled submachine gun TKB-059, AO-46 (aka “Soviet UZI”) for 5.45 mm bullets, and the TKB-022PM bullpup assault rifle.

You have lots of questions now Comrade. Be patient. And note that Pobedograd will stand regardless. It will survive because of you.

I think this game needs no further introduction. Full support to this project aswell!

Sorry for the long post guys, but i really wanted to give it some kind of unity.

I really hope this new generation RPGs will satisfy our nostalgia for STALKER and such...and for LL delayed release date.

Haven't heard of Russia 2028 before, but I have seen Nuclear Union (I think there was even a gameplay trailer for it released not long ago). Both look promising, but I have low expectations and high hopes.

I like Russia 2028, it looks interesting. and if it is stalker-like, even the better definetly going to keep an eye out on that:pop2:

nuclear union on the other hand..I don't know. just not my cup of tea.

And the fact that you are one of the pilots bombing USa and the game takes place 50 years later?? Need a good explanation on that.

Ahaha, glad of that,Teddy!
Yeah, i also prefer Russia 2028 between the two...also,looks like Nuclear Union will have some Realtime Strategy feature ( like stopping the time to decide what to do)...i don't know, i've never have been that fond of such mash ups.

after a brief serach, here's what i found:

it has been done by Vostok games, the guys that left GSC, it has lots of things similar to Stalker. that mutiie dog at the end lookes just like a cross between a flesh and a psydog.

10. I'm pretty sure both would fail miserably.

I donno, they all have something witch is missing in Modern Games, Russia 2028 having such a vast interactible enviroment, being able to pick up most things for differnt reasons (Check out their F-Book page, looks like Old Computer screens will be usefull xD) and with Nuclear Union a game that would be picked up by any pro USSR guys, noting the story line, and sounds like a solid 3rd Person Open world Game that wont be overly bullshit like the 2nd mercenarys game was

Well who knows it might still be good. Stalker has its flaws but still it is a good game overall.

Stalker is absolutely amazing, which is exactly the reason why I think the chances of either of these games beating it are very slim. :p

Yea, Stalker is one of those Games you just wont be able to beat, but their will always be the chance that a game can be just as fun overall, everything's good in its own way eh
