Sequel to Red Dead Redemption? Red Dead Redemption is by far the best game i have ever played. Or better of the one of a few games where i really got conected to the characters. and the story. (Metro 2033 is deffinetly 2nd :D)
I heard that rockstar is planning a sequel to it where you play as Jack. And takes place in the early 20's. Whats your opinion on this?

  2. Not released on PC, ri-i-ight... If I have to spend several hundred USD just to be able play a game it's automatically trash regardless of it's plot or gameplay.

1920s sounds interesting, but we have Mafia games for that time period.

^ Speaking of which, Mafia 3 was recently mentioned as a title in development for next-gen hardware.

I thoroughly enjoyed Red Dead Redemption to the same extent you did. I thought It was a marvellous game that had a story, gripping immersion, great gameplay and just about everything in between. I'm honestly not keen on playing as Jack though, I didn't enjoy playing as him.

Oh yeah, can't wait for more news on Mafia 3.

Back to topic, I'm interested to see how this goes. I just hope they don't add any more adult content, since GTA really pushes many limits in taste. Seriously, if you want to visit prostitutes, get off your ass and go find a real one... Pretty sickening....

Why though? Every entertainment medium - and in this case, dare I say: art form - has to evolve somehow. Pushing the limits is the way to do this and I don't think we should hold them back. Like I said in the Tomb Raider topic: a mature approach (i.e. not a gratuitous one) to the subject matter is all it takes to put it into proper context.
I may not have played a GTA game since Vice City and viewed everything within that game as cartoon violence so I'm not sure what they did with modern GTA games. If it was indeed in poor taste, Rockstar can always redeem themselves with newer iterations.

I hope the do a Red Dead sequel, and Mafia 3. however, I'm not overjoyed to have to play as Jack, 'cause I didn't like him very much. the way he treated ppl and horses, I understand he's bitter at how his father ended, but that doesn't give him the right to be rude. I hope they do change his voice, it really did grate on me.

as fo Mafia 3, it would be great if we could know what happend to Joey and Vito after Mafia 2.

The ending made that pretty clear... Besides, I don't think they'll continue their story in Mafia 3 as the first Mafia game had its own self-contained story as well.

hmm, lots of debate on the net about that, but it would be nice. I did like them both. however, I'm not complaining. and I think both games are awsome and deserve a sequel.

Well, we could see what Vito does through the eyes of someone else (as we saw who killed the player from the first game in Mafia II). I didn't like the way Mafia II ended, it seemed a bit abrupt. Wouldn't Vito be really angry?

So sorry, back on topic, lets start a new thread for Mafia.

I loved RDR, great game and I don't say that lightly, but I think I'd rather have a true wild-west prequel, than a sequel set in the 20's.

I agree. RDR was stepping into modern history - I want something set in the late 1800s and a prequel would be very nice for that. If we go any further in time, it won't be the same anymore. However, RDR was a brilliant game; one of the very best ever released for consoles and perhaps something to challenge even some of the PC's best exclusives.

Playing a younger version of Landon Rickets in a prequel would be perfect, he's such an interesting character.

Cool idea. :) However, I think it would be awesome if we could have a female protagonist... even better if she was Mexican! I just like it when things are a little bit unusual and I think there are too few strong women in gaming. Playing as a Mexican female would make the story very interesting.

well, whatever they decided to do, but no later than the late 1915/20 would be good, but please please rockstar, make the main character able to swim! I'm fed up of drowning 'cause my horse decides to sleep of the footpath and end up in the water!

Yes, I second that. I absolutely hated it when me and my horses drowned. It's like the first Assassins Creed, with stupid barriers like that (both great games overall though).

You should really buy it. It's quiet cheap now and you get everything you expect from an R*-Title. The graphics are stunning and the story-line is amazing and thrilling from the beginning to the epic ending. :pop2:
