    I used to play EVE a lot a while back, used to be quite addicted to be honest. It's a great fun game worth playing. Well I should have kept playing, but when my account got corrupted sometime ago I was screwed. I couldn't do anything about it, lost everything. Has anything like this happened to you guys? I don't see it a lot with EVE, so It was a freak chance for me I guess. :(

    But I haven't come back to it since. How much has changed in, say, 2 years?

    Nothing like that has happened to me in EVE, but I have encountered this problem in other games, but that's life and we just have to deal with it the best we can. Did you contact support abut the situation? I would say to give the game another shot, I have no problems with the game whatsoever.

    In 2 years, not much has really changed, there's updates, but that's common.

    Its like GTA kinda peoples characters are getting corrupted and people are losing there saves like all the time some people having to create up to 10 characters but i see where your coming from its kinda disheartening.

    I have never played EVE, but I have never heard of files getting corrupted on a MMO were you hacking something?

    This has never happened to me and I hope it never happens.
    I'd try to talk to CCP and see if they fix your account.

    I don't play EVE Online (yet) but this must be one of the most heart-wrenching experiences you could encounter playing an MMO. I just can't imagine what would happen if a character I've invested hundreds of hours on just get corrupted at the drop of a hat. Actually, I like playing MMOs because it just means that my files are always in the cloud and I wouldn't have any problems retrieving them when something happens. It sucks then if their main databases are the ones with issues. Sorry for your loss, and I do hope you get everything back.

    Every time that I start playing EVE I play it like an addict for a couple of months, and then I stop playing it entirely but keep paying my subscription for another 6 months after that in order to keep my skill queues going.

    I always end up telling myself I'll come back to play it again, which is why I'm still paying, but I don't.

    Then I unsubscribe after a few months, and a couple of years later come back again and wonder why I stopped and kick myself for the fact that I haven't been skilling up all that time. Repeat the cycle.

    Nothing has happened in 2 years. it is just like runescape. They just change up the AI nothing special, make a few tweaks here and there.

    I've stopped playing a few months back. The game just doesn't do it for me at all. I am sure that I will find myself eventually coming back to it reminiscing.

    Though, right now I don't even want to look at a screenshot.

    Well, except, you know, Rubicon just came out and there was that TEST vs. Goonswarm war (which TEST lost so horribly it had to flee from NullSec space and turn into an FW Alliance).

    As others have said, if what happened was completely out of your control and was their systems' fault, then CCP will most likely get to the bottom of it and restore your account (maybe even with some compensation) if you contact them.
