Hello, since I've decided to go ahead and get the game after my trip as most of you know, I wanted to know more about Skinning and Leather-working my chosen professions. Does anyone have any tips or advice that might help in the long run? Like what I should focus on with those?

Skinning and leatherworking are great professions, they just take a good deal to level up, well leatherworking does thats for sure.
There's many guides out there on the most efficient way to level those professions up if you're looking to powerlevel those two professions.
The only advice I have is to make sure you are using your special leg enchantments which are only accessible to leatherworkers. It will give you an advantage over everyone else who doesn't have leatherworking as a profession.

^ Exactly what he just said. Those extra enchantments come in handy, that's for sure.

Thank you both for the wonderful advice. I will remember the leg enchantments for leather-working when I get back. I'm not really sure what powerleveling is but if it means getting high levels in those professions then I'm definitely for that.

Aside from the enchant, leatherworking now provides a mount for you to ride and it's profession specific.

The term 'powerleveling' basically means leveling fast. Assuming you are a newer player I wouldn't rush trying to reach the maximum level in professions or in the game and instead enjoy the lore, the quests, the environment and everything else you see along the way. It's the best part of the game in my opinon.

However if you do indeed decide you want to go ahead and 'powerlevel', you will need a higher level character as one of the ways you're going to be able to collect a lot of skins for your professions is by killing monsters and the higher your level, the quicker you will collect more skins per minute.

Wait, leather working can also give you a mount? Like a horse mount or a flying bag or something? That would actually be very strange and very cool to see. Heh, is it flying pants? That....that would be hilarious.

Alright, so powerleveling isn't getting to a really powerful level, it's getting to it quickly? I think you're right. For a new person to the WoW realms like me, I think I'd rather enjoy the quests and the scenery for a while first before getting more in detail with that.
