Skyrim Movie

It would be very hard to fit the history and culture and everything about Skyrim into a movie. Maybe if they made it a tv series like game of thrones? I'd be a big risk though, as it would require a lot of money to be put into it.

 

I think if they were to make a movie based on Skyrim alone, it'd have to be a trilogy at least. Skyrim is just too rich of a story to make into one single movie. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it would be a scaled back version of Skyrim's story if it were to be one movie.

I do welcome it though, because it's about time someone made a good video game based movie and Skyrim would be great. Maybe get the guys who do Game of Thrones to direct and produce it.

 

Yeah, it would be too hard to stuff it all into the one film. You'd probably need at least 10 hours to make a good series out of it. TV producers generally want added on parts to it too, which would increase run time.

 

Agreed, the budget of such a movie would be crazy though. All the CGI they would need might remind people of an Avatar type movie. That movie got a lot of hype and a lot of people loved it, but as I said, the amount they spent on Avatar was huge!

 

A Skyrim or any Elder Scrolls movie would rock my socks off. Seriously would want this to happen. I think it'd be best to make a tv series though, especially since there's too much of a story to tell in one movie and honestly I don't think 3 movies would even cover it.

 

A Skyrim movie would be pretty damn cool but I dont see it happening. I dont think the developers of the game would believe it would succeed in the mainstream market, if so they would have made a movie by now. Maybe for one of the Elder Scroll games in the future they will make a movie.

 

I think it would take some time for us to actually see the game on big screen

 

I don't think it would work out, unless its hours upon hours long, its hard to fit all the components of the game and storyline in a 2 and a half hour movie, without it being terrible of course.

 

A Elder Scrolls Movie would be great, a TV series in the other hand would do best besides from a movie. I will explain why a TV series will have a higher approval rate than a movie. How many of you seen Merlin a TV show based on King Arthur & the Knights of The Round Table aired in the UK and on the SyFy channel. Its a fact a lot fans loved Merlin the TV Series why because it has a great story line to it. The Actors play out there role perfectly. Most of all the storyline sticks to the actual storyline of King Arthur. So if the creators of the Elder Scrolls produced an identical setting, background, with the same effects as Merlin but differently based on the games of the Elder Scrolls the TV series can be a hit. So what do you think?

 

I would love a film to be brought out based on Skyrim, however you guys are right, it would need a lot of money to be spent on it to help give it the best CGI. They do have the money to do it though, and I'm sure other people would be willing to invest as it would make a huge return.

It is best that a TV series be brought out instead though, it would be easier to make in stages, as I don't think a movie could be made long enough. It would be awesome to see something like this being made though, it has the potential to be amazing.

 

It would cost too much and really it would only appeal to a niche audience of gamers. Lets face it, how many of us would also slag off the filmmakers for sticking in a spurious romance just for the women to weep over (sorry ladies if you are reading!)

 

I think a mini-series would be great. And it wouldn't only appeal to the gamers - Game of Thrones has a huge audience and I'm sure most of them haven't read the books (or even heard of them before seeing the show). P.S. As a female, I hate romance in films/TV - I'm all action, all the time, but yeah, I totally know what you mean.

 

I don't think it'll cost a whole lot to make imo. I have this feeling that'll it'll have a big budget, but what type of movie doesn't? There's a lot you can do with a big budget and if a movie of Skyrim is made, it would totally get a massive budget.

As for it doing good, only time would tell really. I think a Skyrim movie could be bad for various reason, one that comes to mind is that movies based on video games tend to be quite awful. I'd expect a really good director to be involved.

 

Yeah, a Skyrim movie would be cool, but It would be better if they made an Elders Scrolls movie instead. That would be a far more epic movie and it would have a broader story-line. Elder Scrolls is pretty popular now, I just hope they don't go all blockbuster on it like they do with most superhero movies coming out today.

 

Na man...I don't see it happening or being successful.

Skyrim's story is very generic for it to become a movie or TV show. There are already way too many other franchises like this, such as Game of Thrones and LOTR as you already mentioned..why will people prefer this over that when they're already so successful?
